Cafe Dot Birthday Jam - Devlog 3
So... Where have I been recently? SO! I ended up immediately joining the GMTK Jam right after this birthday jam, so I've been very busy slaving away from that buuuut
The game is done! (And also has a name!)
Cannon Catering is now available on itch.io, and I've been able to get some feedback on my game, so what else was done before the submission?
Music!
lesson learned... Never leave music and sfx to the last 24 hours of the jam, this killed me, though with my minimal experience, I found that using the main melody as a motif for the rest of the songs, really helped! That, as well as keeping the loops to like less than a minute really helped xD
Sprites!
I made up all of the sprites, those being of the player as well as the enemies, I also overhauled the player's cannon, but decided to keep the rest of the sprites as they worked good enough! I do regret resizing a lot of them however, as it led to a lot of mixels, which is not good...
Upgrade menu!
this gave me so many problems whilst implementing, UI in Godot is still something I'm yet to understand, but we will get there at some point! However we ended up with a sufficient menu that mostly worked, and upgrades to the gun that worked! And upgrades to the bullets that... did not work! (we don't talk about it)
