She sighed. “There’s a lot to be nervous about. And you can talk about the case. I mean, it is something crazy, right? I’m sure you have questions.”
He shrugged softly,”Look, outside of my uniform, I’m just a guy. A guy that wants to get to know you. Honestly, I don’t need to know about the case outside of work.” He took a deep breath in,”You must have questions for me. Ask me anything. I’m an open book.”

She took a seat and then a deep breath. “Yeah. Things are fine.” She looked into his eyes. “I’m just nervous I guess.”
“WHat is there to be nervous about?” He asked,”I promise you i’m not going to ask you questions about the case. This is a date. That would be rude.” He chuckled a little bit.

Marley took a deep breath as she entered the place and smiled back at him. “This seems nice.” She commented and stood awkwardly for him to lead the way.
Ryder pursed his lips together and nodded,”Yeah, it definitely does.” He said with a soft warm smile on his face. They were escorted to their table and he pulled her seat out for her to sit,”Is everything okay?” He asked, tilting his head cautiously.

Ryder looked at the woman confused. He sighed, trying to brush it off like it was nothing. He parked the car and got out to go open her door as he smiled at her"after you.“ He said, holding his hand out for her.
Marley took his hand and smiled as she got out then took her hand back. She was starting to regret agreeing to the date but the sooner they were done, the sooner she could go home.
To the male, she seemed a little on edge but maybe that was just because it was their first date. He smiled as he looked at the woman and opened the door to the place for her, allowing her to go inside first.

Ryder smiled at her and nodded,“well you are beautiful. So I’m going to tell you when I can.” He nodded again.
Marley blushed a bit before wondering if it was just the magic running through her body that made him think she was beautiful. Her smile faded and she looked away. “Thank you. I appreciate it.”

“I still don’t understand why though. You’re gorgeous.” He smiled. He raised an eyebrow at her and help out his hand,“Yes, of course I want to."Â
"It’s because I keep to myself. I don’t make a big deal about myself or anything else.” She shrugged. “Okay. Then we will.”
Ryder smiled at her and nodded,"well you are beautiful. So I'm going to tell you when I can." He nodded again.

"They don’t usually see me." She explained to him before smiling. "Yeah. Us." She took a deep breath. "Are you really sure you want to do this? We don’t have to."

Marley smiled over at Ryder and nodded. “I’m nervous too. I’ve never gone on a date. Guys aren’t always jumping to date me. You’re the one who even noticed me.” She took a deep breath and looked out the window.
Ryder scrunched his nose and raised an eyebrow at her,"I don't understand why. You're beautiful. They're stupid if they don't see that." He muttered,"But this date isn't really about them. It's about us." He smiled quickly at her then looked at the road in front of him.

Marley smiled at him softly before looking down. “Yeah. I know that more than most probably.” She told him before looking up. “We’re not walking? I thought since it was down the block…” She trailed off and shook her head. “Never mind. Going by car is fine.” She got in too and buckled up.
He looked at her and frowned softly the smiled,"Trust me. I know. Me too." He lowered his head and took his hand to his forehead before shutting the door,"Yes, we were.. I guess I'm just nervous. This is my first date in a while. I'm sorry." He smiled and jogged to the other side to get in.

Marley blushed and looked away from him. “Oh. Well, I’m glad we’re doing this.” She said and looked up at him with a small smile. “I don’t see how that’s fair but okay. Right now, I just want to go where you want to take me.”
Ryder smiled softly. She was indeed cute when she blushed,"I am glad we are doing this too." He smiled at her and shrugged,"Well, nothing in life is fair." He joked with her,"We will be there as soon as possible." He said, getting into the car.

"Sounds like you just mean it’s a pity date." Marley teased as she listened to him talk. She grinned and shook her head. "A new restaurant sounds nice. Though most of those are new to me. I don’t get out much." She explained. "Trust me, I haven’t tried it."
Ryder looked at Marley and smiled, shaking his head,"No no, it's definitely not a pity date. I mean I am very much attracted to you." He nodded at her and shrugged,"Well, as long as you're with me, I'll take you anywhere you want to go." He whispered over to her as he opened his car door for her.

"Yeah but are you really sure the case is over? I mean, you guys thought I died and then I came back." She pointed out and smiled as he gave her flowers. "Thank you." She laid them on her desk and closed the door as she left. "Where are we going?"Â
Ryder smiled at the brunette and nodded,"Yes, it's over, Marley. This is why I am taking you out. It's a celebratory date." He chuckled then smiled at her nodding softly,"Of course. It's not a problem." He shrugged,"There's this new restaurant I wanted to try. You up for trying something new? I mean unless you've already tried this place. The one on the corner of first?" He asked, tilting his head ever so slightly.

Marley sighed as she adjusted her wing under her dress and jacket. It was always so uncomfortable hiding her wings but she couldn’t wear them out all the time. Not when no one knew who she was. What she was. Hearing the knock on the door, Marley sighed and walked over to the door. She smiled as she saw Ryder on the other side and grinned at him. “Excuse the police tape.” She laughed as she looked back at her apartment. “Maybe we should just go.”
Ryder chuckled softly and nodded,"I was the one that put it up. I'm sure you're safe to take it down." He pulled the flowers from behind his back and handed them to her with a light smile. He nodded at her statement and smiled,"Sounds like a good idea."

Ryder took a deep breath in and smoothed out his clothes as he made his way up to Marley's apartment. It was the first date he'd been on in a while so he figured it was time. He walked up to the door and knocked lightly. He had been investigating this for awhile but that was on the back burner. He was smitten by the female. Hell he couldn't help himself. He waited patiently with flowers behind his back for the girl to open the door.
