january 1, 2017 | new year’s resolutions
1. Be happy. Fill out the 52 Lists for Happiness every week. Revel in the small moments that give you joy. Pull friends closer and cut out negativity. Meditate.
2. Love yourself. Become the person you would fall in love with. Eat healthy, exercise, sleep and prioritize yourself. Learn to accept mistakes and failure.
3. Read for pleasure. Schedule time for it. Reading is one of the great joys of life. It’s about time you rediscover it.
4. Make good art. Carry your sketchbook everywhere. “Do not try to paint the grandiose thing. Paint the commonplace so that it will be distinguished.”
5. Journal. Make time for it, because it is so worth it. You will learn new things, make sense of yourself, and decompress. Later, it will be so so important.
6. Learn new things. Do it out of your own self-interest. Be open-minded, and remember that lessons can come from anyone, anywhere.
7. Seize opportunities. Stretch your comfort zone. Do not be afraid to believe. You will not regret the things you did, only the things you didn’t do.
5/01/2017 || Getting back into the swing of things after a whirlwind holiday. I had my bff over at my mums in the UK and it has been an absolute blast but flying back to South Africa tomorrow. Bitter sweet - saying goodbye to my mum but going to see Kieran (the bf). Decided to get back into bullet journaling as I have been all over the place lately. I have so so much to figure out at the moment like where to live, try to get a job/internship and the logistics of it all.
As I’ve been a bit down lately I really related to a blog post I saw by @sleepysadn3ss listing how to be happier in 2017 - so I thought it would be a good bujo spread.

Last page of my first bujo! :3 It’s been ten months since I started bullet journaling, and it has changed my life immensely. My anxiety levels are down, and I have somehow managed through a tough year without hurting myself. I’ve also met so many wonderful and talented people in the studyblr community who offer their utmost support and empathy. Thank you all for inspiring me and keeping me motivated. See you next journal! :) 💙💜 ig: nag_aaral
Favourite essay tip: Break down your essay into VERY brief bullet points and put them on flashcards! I like to highlight the different elements that are most important to help my memorise the information. You can then take your flashcards anywhere and review them when you have a few minutes to spare!
