a glimpse of my new room :-)
i’m starting a habit of journaling daily
The library is starting to become my 2nd home 📚💁🏻♀️ currently, I'm studying for the toefl exam and it's going pretty well 💕

I am a firm believer that if you’re going to be studying for 11 hours a day (yes, that’s really what my Forest app said), you need a workspace that makes you feel good.
This photo was actually taken a few days ago & I have since repotted Sookie (the lil plant baby) into a bigger plant so she has room to grow :)
I find these carrels with views over Bloomsbury completely irresistible. I had a really productive morning here looking through philosophy periodicals (and daydreaming about living in those terraces)
23-28/100 days of productivity (19-24.2.2018)
I somehow always forget to post these. Well anyway, this weeks has been a bit crazy. I started writing again, wrote the first chapter of my story, wrote some cover letters and CV. I also finally have moved from the second chemistry book which took ages, literally, probably two weeks. Hope you all are having a great and productive weekend!
Carry a book wherever you go, that way if you ever need something to keep you busy you’ll have a book with you.
I‘m not taking Japanese as an elective this year, but I‘m starting a five-day-a-week challenge/target at just 20-30 minutes per sesh to review & progress on my own. よし💪!
Everyone who owns a cat knows the struggle!! Here’s some pics of my cat on my desk to brighten up your day! His name is Micky, he follows me everywhere in the house, especially when i’m studying! He just loves sleeping on my desk or on my lap 🙈
im proud i finally got my brother to start journalling w me !! inspired by the lovely @studylustre 🍂
EUROPEAN STUDYBLRS PLEASE REBLOG THIS POST
i follow too many americans lol
college study tips that actually help
put your phone on silent and put it across the room
listen to classical/soundtrack music without lyrics
make index cards for important vocab
wear pajamas
make diagrams and pictures. they don’t have to look pretty, as long as you understand it
make timelines for historical events
have a light snack
drink coffee or tea to keep you going
take a break every hour or so
have one pencil/black pen and one colored pen or highlighter. anything more will just distract you. the aesthetics aren’t important, your knowledge is
don’t be afraid to email/message your teacher or a classmate if you don’t understand something. the last thing you want to do is learn the incorrect information
know that sleep and health is more important than your grade. you cannot perform as well on a test if you are tired or sick. take care of yourself
it’s not a race. it’s not about who can learn something in the quickest time, it’s about learning
take a deep breath
prioritize your homework by how long it will take you and when it’s due
plan some you time in between studying and school
if you’re mentally exhausted, set a timer for 30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and you’ll wake up even more tired
don’t understand something? that’s perfectly fine, don’t stress over it. ask for help rather than complaining
have a goal in mind and write them down. say things like “i am getting an education so i can get the job of my dreams. the life that i want. the happiness that i deserve”
be thankful. it is a privilege that you get to go to school and get an education.
you got this.
My favorite thing is that Europe is spooky because it’s old and America is spooky because it’s big
“The difference between America and England is that Americans think 100 years is a long time, while the English think 100 miles is a long way.” –Earle Hitchner
29.04.2016 // today I went to the British Library to work on some research for an article I want to write. I got my Reader’s Pass and had lunch with a friend who was working on her post-doctoral proposal. I love the British Library, it is such a hive of academic and literary activity.
