The Beatles – “Hello, Goodbye” (1967)
The connection between John and Paul was amazing. There was just so much energy between them. To be honest, there was a unique and almost divine energy between all four of them. I am sure there were many difficulties within the band creatively, but you never got a sense of that during the shoot. They were really tight with each other. You could tell why they were so successful. – Tim Murray, a Mad Day Out photographer

(This was, of course, the photo session for the famous psychedelic effects portraits of The Beatles; the photo ultimately used for George’s portrait was previously posted here.)

I love these pictures. This is very special for me – this series. After the Beatles broke up I kind of got accused of being the one that broke them up, and that we always had a “terrible” relationship… so this always reminds me of how happy we were together. I’m checking some lyrics or something, and it’s just great the way John’s smiling. – Paul McCartney, 2018
