The official Rules and Guidelines post
[This post will be updated as needed.]
I feel like "rules" is kind-of strong for what I hope will be a laid-back community. And to be honest, most of this is guidelines. Life is stressful enough that you shouldn't have to worry about formatting or something when you want to gush about your favorite relationships. My suggestions are mostly for people to help find the posts inspired by these prompts.
The hard rule is: no bigotry allowed.
This isn’t to say your characters haven’t had to deal with gross stuff. But you, the blogger? Don’t give other creative-types in the community shit for who they are or who their characters are. Writing about your characters dealing with things that happen in their lives and treating other creators grossly are two different things. I aim to make this a safe space, meaning that racists, aphobes, transphobes, abelists, etc. will be blocked. (You’ll get one warning.)
As for guidelines?
This is very much like so many other prompt posts float around on Tumblr. You see the post, you reblog it if you’re interested in participating. Your followers send in Asks (or you can use a dice roller and create a new post) and you write the prompt. If you want others beyond your followers to see your work, tag it #polyworks.
Both fandom and original characters are great. If you want to use the #polyworks tag, please consider tagging for common Blacklist terms like NSFW and common triggers (abuse, food mention, religion, etc). I will be tagging prompts with anything that might be related to common triggers. Please send me an Ask if there is something I’ve not tagged that you need. Any requests for tagging will be kept in confidence.
More than anything, I hope everyone can have fun. Please send me an Ask if you have any questions.
