In this canonādivergent Avatar universe, set six years after the Avatar has been captured by the Fire Nation and 106 years after the Air Nomad genocide, the Fire Nationās war gains frightening momentum as they prepare for a mighty, final blow. Katara is torn from the South and forced into servitude in the heart of the enemy court, into the direct orbit of Prince Zuko. What begins as a ruthless, captiveāandācaptor dynamic, evolves into a fraught intimacy whose shifting loyalties threaten both personal bonds and the balance of the world.
Enemies become uneasy confidants as palace intrigues, betrayals, and true desires are pulled into the light. As both learn the truth of the other, their precarious connection becomes a dangerous, tender thing that could change the course of the meaning of destiny.

This is a long, WIP AU where Aang is captured by the Fire Nation instead of found in the iceberg and what that catalyst shift in the story could lead to.
Romance is slow, progressive, and earned. It is thematically an enemies-to-lovers plotline with significant angst and character growth. The plot idea grew out of rewatching the show and rereading the comics, thus Iām writing from a place of love for the ATLA universe.
