“Yeah I’ve been told I’m a real peach with great advice.” He said shrugging a little, her antics amused him lightly and almost made him smile but then he remembered that he wasn’t here to make connections. “They wouldn’t but it’s the best way to get through the days here. They’ll loosen up their watch on you eventually then you can hermit as much as your heart desires.”

“Yeah, and optimistic, too. Really know how to be positive and comforting.” Cassandra finally just pushed the cup to the side, still dissatisfied. “I don’t know if I believe that. Sounds pretty boring. There must be something better to do.”

Zeta felt her cheeks going red when Cassandra wigged her eyebrows. “You’re amazing at making plans.” She grinned.

Cassandra noticed her blush, but didn’t mention it. “Why, thank you. You’re pretty innovative yourself. So, if you’re born last, how many siblings do you have?”

“that is way less exciting than a weightloss cleanse. that sucks. i’m sorry.” she shrugs, although she kind of feels like an asshole. “you and me both, babe.”

“I guess so, but weight loss cleanses sound pretty shitty, too. I’d rather be thicc than drink weird lemon-cayenne pepper juice for ten days.” Cassandra heaved a dramatic sigh. “I expect it’ll be ninety days at least, since that’s the magic number for alcoholism.”

“Yeah, we can put expiration dates on them. Make new ones every day. Hey, maybe once we used up all the plants, they’d be so frustrated they’d give us our bras back.” Cassandra wiggled her eyebrows and smiled. “Neither are mine.”

“They need more signs, like real hospitals. I’m not sure I want it to be comfy, though, I don’t plan to be here that long. They took me to my room to dump my stuff, but I wouldn’t know how to get back.”

Zeta chuckled. “It’s like an urban jungle vibe. Hospital meets the forest. I was the last born into my family, so yes.”

“Totally. Probably isn’t so great when all the leaves shrivel up and die, but it’d be fun for like, one day. Nice,” Cassandra let out a snort. “As opposed to the entire world? That would really be impressive. Like your parents controlled the fate of the human race.”

Jonas nodded at her response. WELL, THE TRICK WOULD ACTUALLY, PROBABLY, BE GETTING THE WIRE OUT OF THE BRA. His eyes drifted to the ceiling as he thought about how long he had been writing. Finally, his hand went back to writing. I DON’T WRITE CONSISTENTLY. WHEN PEOPLE AREN’T AROUND, I DON’T WRITE BECAUSE THERE’S NO ONE TO TALK TO. “Hey, good point, how the fuck do they expect me to do that? They don’t have scissors or knives, do they think I’m gonna use my teeth like an animal? Jesus. Might as well just go straight to the source and bite them, rather than wire-stabbing.” Cassandra tried not to look too surprised. “Eight years? Shit. I just thought-- it was a temporary thing. My bad.”

“Yeah, I lost my nice bras. Apparently, I might stab someone with the wire.” Cassandra raised an eyebrow at his reply. “How long have you been-- writing? Consistently. You don’t have laryngitis, do you? That would be nice. 21 is too damn old.”

“If only we had access to yarn, we could make something to lift the breasts. Nothing in here is useful. I like old fashioned names, but Cassandra reminds me of a 1980′s celebrity.”

Maybe we can scrounge for some vines outside, weave a bra from grass and leaves and shit.” Cassandra sat forward slightly. “Well, there you go. But I’ll take that. Zeta kind of sounds like... a Greek opera singer. That’s the mental picture I got.”

“This still is rehab. If you wanted someone to pamper you while you got admitted you should have gone to a Hollywood rehab center instead. The coffee is against the rules due to the burn hazard it causes if someone unstable decided to throw it at another patient, or staff.” His tone was cold and uncaring towards her whining, not a muscle moving to change his expression. He wanted to make a case of ‘if you weren’t so damn dysfunctional in society you wouldn’t even be here’ but decided to keep it to himself. “I do work here. There is nothing that stops you from letting, quote, your boobs roam free. People have more important things to care about in here than a loose rack. Like getting better.” Pissy. why did everyone always assume he was pissy or grumpy? It was a natural thing, a professional thing to not be friendly in his position. It was work.

“It’s a mental hospital with rehab attached. Not the same thing. Jesus Christ, I’m not asking for much. Just decent boob support and coffee that’s not shitty. And it... totally is allowed. I’m having some right now, it just tastes really bad. Which, in my opinion, increases the risk of rage-induced-beverage throwing.” Cassandra blinked slowly as if to say that his abrasive exterior didn’t cause her any pain. “I tried it once, totally not happening again. Two guys thought it was an open invitation to grope, and some lady with a toddler, who probably was breastfed a couple months prior, told me I was a bad influence. Plus, it’s painful, gravity is unkind. Appreciate your tiny titties.”

“That’s fortunate when it comes to a lack of underwire bras. I’m sure I’ll get super uncomfortable within a couple of days.” Cassandra lifted her eyebrows slightly with a smile. “Yeah, you too. Really? Some people think it sounds like an old person and try to call me Cassie.”

If someone’s going to drink enough to impair development or whatever, they’re probably not the type to wait until it’s legal. Example A,” She gestured to herself.
