Chapter Two
âUgh⊠My headâŠâ Rainbow Dash let out a pained groan, struggling to open her eyes. She squinted a bit, attempting to take in her surroundings. It was proving difficult though; the room was engulfing her in complete darkness. She attempted to move after fully coming to, quickly glancing around. âWhat..? Why canât I move?â Her wings flapped rapidly in an attempt to break free. The pegasus then paused, her mind racing. âPinkie Pie!â She shouted.
Just then, a couple of fluorescent lights above Rainbow flickered on with a low hum. âGood morning, Dashie!â Pinkie Pie giggled. âWell, it isnât really morning. Youâve only been asleep for a couple of hours. But you know what I mean! At least, you should! You always love my jokes!â She hopped over, sporting a huge grin. âIâm surprised it took you this long to wake up!âÂ
âLet me go!â Rainbow Dash exclaimed. âWhat is with you?! Youâre not Pinkie!â She squirmed a bit, finally taking a moment to look at all four of her legs. They were all strapped down tightly with leather restraints. It would take a pony a lot stronger than Rainbow Dash to tear through, and she knew it too.Â
âWhat do you mean, Dashie? Of course Iâm Pinkie! If I wasnât Pinkie, who else would I be?â Pinkie Pie asked with a giggle. The pink pony now wore a bright, multicolored apron. It had multiple stains within it; only Celestia knew what they could have been. âYou must be a bit thrown off. I mean, no-pony really knows the full extent of my job!â She chirped, taking a few steps back. She reached up, grabbing a chain that was hanging from the ceiling. Her hoof moved down, the chain making a click as more lights began to shine.
The scene before Rainbow Dash was quite gruesome. The damp walls surrounding her held several mounts with ponyâs skulls hanging as trophies. Some of them were from missing ponies from Ponyville, but most of the others were from ponies Rainbow Dash had never seen before. It was likely that Pinkie Pie had taken ponies that werenât thought of very often. Along with the mounts, a few tables with spoiled sweets and pastries were strewn about. The tables seemed to be made with bones; the cloths on top resembling pony hide. A large banner with entrails holding it hung from the ceiling, reading âLIFEâS A PARTY!â. It was written in some sort of reddish-brown substance. Something one could only assume was blood.
â...Pinkie?â Rainbow Dashâs eyes scanned the room. She gave an anxious smile, a hoarse laugh escaping from her chest. Although, she didnât think this was funny. Not at all. âWhat⊠What the hell is all of this? Is this supposed to be some sort of joke?â She asked, turning her head to look at her friend. âWhy do you have all of this?â She couldnât believe what she was seeing. She had never seen anything like this in her life, nor did she ever expect to. She had only ever heard of these sorts of murders in bigger cities around Equestria. She never expected something to happen around her. Let alone to her.
âMy job isnât a joke, Rainbow.â Pinkie Pie huffed at her. She didnât seem to think that was very funny. âYou know, I go around doing great things for ponies! Iâm just continuing the family business. It takes a lot to do this kind of work!â She said, walking over to a small, wheeled cart nearby. She sat down beside the cart, slipping a pair of gloves onto her hooves. âThis is a thing that the Pies have been doing for decades! And I canât let you ruin it, silly! Even if I did let you go, youâd go and tell every-pony! And then I would be the one to sully the Pie name!â
âI⊠I donât understandâŠâ Rainbow said quietly. âWhy⊠Why would any-pony do this?â She lifted her head, staring at Pinkie. âWhy would YOU do this?!â She raised her voice. âThis doesnât make any sense!â
Pinkie Pie then scoffed a bit. âWell of course it wouldnât make sense to you, youâre not a Pie!â She turned her head to look at Rainbow. âMy family started doing this a loooong time ago! Long before we came along!â She started, moving to stand again. âOur towns were overpopulated, but no-pony was doing anything about it! And then we reached a famine and, well, we didnât have any food! So we figured, why not just take ponies and eat them instead!â She beamed a bit. âWe started taking ponies that didnât really make an impact, ones that went unnoticed. I guess over time, we started getting sloppy! My father told me that I should have some sort of system. Drawing names or something. I guess your name ended up in it!â She shrugged. âOh well! I have always wondered what a rainbow pony would taste like!â She giggled.
Rainbow Dash stared at Pinkie Pie as she explained her twisted history. â...Why canât you just stop the chain?â She asked, her voice fear stricken. âAnd let me go! I wonât tell anyone, I swear!â She said in a panic. Her eyes were wide and her breath was fast. She really had no idea what to do or say.
âOh, I canât let you go! And I canât âstop the chainâ, I would be a traitor!â Pinkie said, letting out a small huff through her nose. âThe family passes all of this down to one kid, which happened to be me! I guess pops thought Iâd have the most ambition! Which, he was right. I donât think my sisters could stomach the thought of this.â She chirped. âItâs okay though, Iâve come to terms with it! But I canât have any word of this getting out. Iâm sure you understand, Dashie! Youâre my best friend, after all!â She beamed. âMaybe thatâs what makes this so special!â
âOh my CelestiaâŠâ Rainbow muttered, hanging her head. âIâm gonna be sickâŠâ She quickly shook her head. âCome on, Rainbow. Wake up. This isnât real, this canât be real.â She began to ramble, her body shaking with fear. She just couldnât believe what she was hearing, couldnât imagine what other ponies had been through thanks to Pinkie Pie. Although, it was clear that she was about to find out.Â
âOh, I can assure you that you arenât dreaming, Dashie!â Pinkie Pie reached over, grabbing onto the cart as she wheeled it over to Rainbowâs restraints. âBesides, the pain youâre about to feel will prove it! But like I said, it just has to be done. I would have preferred it to be someone else, but you were so lucky to have your name drawn!â She chirped. âActually, I think Iâve got all of our friends in there! How fun!âÂ
Rainbow Dash stared at Pinkie Pie as she walked over, trying to think of some sort of solution to this. She finally glanced at the cart, her stomach dropping when she saw the contents. A medical tray lay on top of the cart, it being wrapped up in some sort of sterile wrap. On top of the wrap was a selection of surgical tools. A scalpel, forceps, a pair of scissors, and various other types of clamps. They were surprisingly clean given the atmosphere of the basement. âPâŠPinkie⊠What are you gonna do to me? This isnât funny, okay? Did I do something to make you mad? Are you mad that I was late?â
âOh, no silly! I had this planned before you decided to show up late!â Pinkie let out a giggle. âI was actually thinking that you were about to spoil the whole thing. I mean, I thought you wouldnât show up at all! Which would have made this whole endeavor WAY harder!â She moved and looked at all of her tools, tapping her chin. She then beamed, grabbing a scalpel. âAs for what Iâm doing, that should be pretty obvious. Iâm gonna harvest you for food!â She turned to face Rainbow Dash once more. âCupcakes, cookies, brownies, anything really!â She beamed. It seemed like nothing about this bothered her.Â
âDoes⊠That mean weâve all beenâŠâ Rainbow rested her head back on the table she was strapped to, feeling queasy. âWeâve all been eating ponies.â She said, not waiting for Pinkie Pie to finish her thought for her. âYouâre disgusting.â She said, glaring at Pinkie Pie. âTheyâll never forgive you when they find out.â
âOh, well Iâm not worried about that! Weâve been able to get away with it for this long, havenât we?â Pinkie Pie grinned, scooting a bit closer to Rainbow Dash. âTheyâll probably just think you ditched your responsibilities and booked it to another town!â She giggled, holding up the scalpel. âOr theyâll think all of your training got to you. I could easily stage a suicide!â She beamed.Â
â...Iâm going to die here.â Rainbow muttered under her breath. She furrowed her eyebrows, watching Pinkie Pie intently. She squirmed a bit under the restraints, flapping her wings again quickly. âLet me go, Pinkie!â
âThat didnât work the first time, what makes you think itâs going to now?â Pinkie asked, looking up at Rainbow Dash with a deadpan expression. She moved and stood up, setting the scalpel down on the cart once more. âI thought youâd be more cooperative, Dash! But, since youâre not,â The mare walked over to a bucket of nails, grabbing a few with her mouth. At the same time, she took a hammer into one of her hooves. She trotted back over to her victim, pinning one of her wings down against the table. âStay still!â She said, her speech being muffled from the nails. She held one of them up to Rainbowâs wing bone, slamming it in without much thought.Â
Rainbowâs eyes immediately went wide. She let out a scream, her back arching against the table. She had never felt pain like that before, especially in her wings. Her most prized part of herself. âP-Pinkie, stop!â She cried, watching as the other made her way to the other wing. She knew the begging wouldnât stop a thing, but she was hoping that she could at least get her to think about it.
âNo, I donât think I will!â Pinkie Pie hummed. She moved and hammered another nail or two into Rainbowâs left wing, beaming at her work. âPerfect!â She said, taking a step back. âOh, and you can make as much noise as you want! No-pony is going to hear you down here!â She chirped. She tossed the hammer to the side, moving to grab the scalpel once again. âNow that youâre all nailed down, I can start the rest of the fun! How does that sound, Dashie?âÂ
Rainbow Dash looked down at Pinkie, tears streaking her cheeks. âPlease, just let me goâŠâ She said weakly. Though, she could tell that Pinkie Pie wasnât listening to her. She knew that Pinkie wanted nothing more than to see her suffer. She could only watch and prepare herself as the pink pony took a step closer; her scalpel aimed directly at her flank.

Chapter One
It was a nice, sunny day in Cloudsdale, rays of sunshine peeking through a pair of pearly white curtains. A blue pegasus by the name of Rainbow Dash was just waking up from her deep slumber, having a late night the previous day with Wonderbolts practice. Training to become one was quite the task, and it usually took a lot out of her. The time was around noon, but she didnât bother with setting any alarms. She never cared enough to do so. However, today was different. Today she actually had plans; plans with her close friend Pinkie Pie. The pony let out a long yawn, letting her limbs and wings stretch out across her big, fluffy bed. She then paused, her eyes shooting open.Â
âCrap! Iâve gotta meet with Pinkie!â Rainbow exclaimed. She flew out of bed in a rush, deciding to leave through her window rather than making the trip downstairs. âMan, sheâs gonna kill me! I was supposed to meet with her, likeâŠâ She thought to herself for a moment, taking a moment to look up at the sky. âLike a few hours ago! I hope sheâs not angry.â
Rainbow Dash crashed through multiple clouds as she raced to the town below. She had definitely been late to outings before with her friends, but never this late. She was certain her friend Pinkie Pie would be upset with her. She was the element of Loyalty for Celestiaâs sake, she was supposed to be there for her friends! Thatâs what she kept telling herself, anyway. Rainbow always tended to be a bit difficult on herself when it came to these situations.
When the mare finally reached Ponyville, she came to a screeching halt in front of the local bakery, Sugar Cube Corner. She gazed up at the⊠Rather colorful building before giving a quick head shake. She galloped up to the doors, but before she could even raise a hoof to open them, they swung open seemingly on their own.
âPinkie Pie! Iâm so sorry Iâm late, I totally slept in andââ Rainbow started to explain herself, but she was quickly cut off by the energetic pony before her.Â
âOh Dashie, donât even worry about it!â Pinkie Pie chirped, âIâve been watching for you aaaaall morning!â She moved and grabbed Rainbow by the front leg, yanking her inside. âBesides, I know youâre late sometimes! I figured you slept in! Youâre always busy with your Wonderbolts practice!âÂ
â...Right,â Rainbow Dash squinted a bit. She did find it a tad suspicious that Pinkie wasnât upset in the slightest. âSo, what exactly did you say we were doing again? Not that Iâve got anywhere to be or anything.â She cleared her throat, her face flushing from embarrassment. She felt she had given the impression that she didnât want to be there with her friend.
âOh, right! Weâre making cupcakes!â Pinkie beamed, nearly buzzing from excitement. âI know youâre not big on baking or anything, but thatâs okay!â She zipped off, returning almost immediately with a cupcake in hoof. âThatâs why I wanna start off with a tasting!â She moved and offered the cupcake to Rainbow Dash. It did look rather tasty, the base being made of a fluffy, chocolate cake. The glittery, pink icing on top made it hard to resist.
Rainbow Dash stared at the cupcake for a moment, her head cocking to the side. Her eyebrows then furrowed a bit, the pony taking a seat on the ground. âWait, so, if weâre making cupcakes, why exactly do I need to taste one?â She asked. Although, she didnât hesitate to take the cupcake into her own hoof. She turned it around, sniffing at the icing curiously.Â
âWell DUH, itâs to see how yours needs to turn out!â Pinkie Pie let out a small huff from her nose. âI figured I could make an example before you go and make your own!â She told her friend.
âYou said weâd both be making them, right?â Rainbow asked, glancing up at Pinkie Pie. She started to notice something a bit off about the pink pony. She seemed⊠Anxious. It couldnât have been obvious to many, but Rainbow had an easier time picking up on emotions her friends were portraying. âI mean, I trust the both of us to make good enough cupcakes together.â
Pinkie stood there for a moment, becoming rather still. She then flashed Rainbow Dash a big grin. âWell, thatâs awfully sweet of you, Dash!â She chirped. She took a step closer, âBut I really do think you should try the cupcake! Just in case, yâknow?â
Rainbow hesitated for a moment before moving to stand up again, âI mean, not really? Youâre being kinda weird, Pinkie. Is everything okay?â She asked, her expression showing concern. Rainbow Dash watched her friend, trying to read how she was feeling. As she watched, she caught a twitch in Pinkieâs eye. She had never really seen her act this way before; it was beginning to freak her out.
âYou know, friends do a lot for each other, Dash! Is it such a crime that I wanna spend time with you? I thought making cupcakes could be a fun activity! Because friends hang out and do things together, even when they donât like it!â Pinkie Pie gave Rainbow Dash another grin. Although, it was different from her normal, energetic grin. Something about it came off as sinister to Rainbow.Â
Rainbow Dash took a step back, a pang of fear washing over her. She never expected to be afraid of one of her closest friends, especially Pinkie Pie. She moved and finally set her cupcake down on a nearby counter. âUh.. You know what, I really should get going,â She started. âI forgot that I have to meet with Twilight, andââÂ
Before the pony could finish her sentence, the cupcake in which she was previously holding was grabbed from the counter and shoved into her mouth. âItâs okay, Dash! I tried to do this the easy way, you know! But you just had to go and make things difficult! Itâs not my fault that I had to resort to this!â Pinkie Pie chirped. âIf you had just eaten the cupcake when I first gave it to you, I wouldnât have to be forcing it down your throat!â She let out a giggle. âBut we got everything figured out, didnât we?âÂ
Rainbow quickly moved back, choking a bit on the sweet that was just forced upon her. âPinkie! What the hell is with you?!â She shouted, wiping at her mouth. âWhy canât you just take no for an answer?!â She huffed a bit, turning to leave the bakery. âWhatever, Iâm out of here.â She muttered. The mare stopped before she could reach the door, however. She was suddenly feeling quite sick to her stomach, and her head felt as light as a feather. Before she could think of doing anything else, she fell over, the world around her slowly going black.Â
