the way the game and fandom made it seem like Kenny was the only one to make sacrifices for Clem like Jane didn't die for the sake of teaching Clem how to stay alive. look at all the things she taught her. skills. strategy. components of a practical mindset.
she helped the group in escaping Carver's. helped Clem and Rebecca meet up with the rest of the group when they were scared and alone. helped find shelter. robbing someone to get medicine for the group, for Rebecca who has disrespected her time and time again.
Jane was calm, cool, and level headed. she never yelled at Clem or blamed her for doing her best. she respected Clem as a survivor but she cared for her and taught her like an adult should when willing to take on those responsibilities. look at how Kenny acted when Clem tried to save Sarita. she was never acknowledged as being very compassionate, even tho she was, especially toward Clem. the reason why being that she knew how to prioritize self-preservation. she could've let Clem go save Luke and Sarah by herself. she didn't have to save Sarah when the deck falls. she could've abandoned the group when they were fighting against Arvo's group. she could've left when Mike and Bonnie were robbing Clem, Kenny, and AJ. she didn't.
she had an internal struggle about the choices to help or save herself, but ultimately came to the conclusion that she can't save people who can't be saved at the cost of her own life. it wasn't easy for her, but it was what rational. y'all just can't handle logical female characters (and women in general) who aren't self-sacrifcing to their own detriment
