( davika hoorne, cis-female, she/her, 31 ) ** โ announcing narisa rinaldi, ย the queen of italy ! in a recent portrait they seem to resemble davika hoorne. it is a miracle that she survived the last five years and for that reason, they are against the kingdoms working together. reflecting on them now, they remind me of leaving behind a token of ill will, the raw instinct to survive, a tear through an old family portrait, a task too difficult to bare .

โพ youโre the first born, your name paving your way to greatness and yet your bones are too fragile, breaking under the weight of expectations and a not so certain fate.ย
โพ when narisa opened her eyes to the world no one expected her to live. she was weak, a word only reserved for outsiders but at least she barely cried at all.
โพ her childhood floats in a fog, alone. muted and fuzzy. most of her time were spend in bed, her sickness treated as an inconvenience to her duties, the expectations still the same.. her father only ever spoke to her when he asked her about her studies, his eyes mostly clouded by disappointment. and sometimes sheโd believe that itโd begun since her birth.
โพ the doctors called it a miracle when her health improved, however she considered it a result of determination and perhaps the answer to her prayers. sheโs determined to prove that her birth wasnโt sheer luck but that she was born lucky.ย
โพ yet, being tied by her illness somehow rendered her as odd. when speaking to others her age she doesnโt know what to say, sharing the same language of cruelty as her family did. sheโs blunt, insensitive and sometimes cruel but she doesnโt know better. sheโs alone again.
โพ as she becomes older and wiser, she learns how to use her words, twist them to her advantage while keeping a facade made out of stone. sheโs known to be detached, calculated but sheโs also known for her abilities, her intelligence and perhaps thatโs what made her fit to be queen.
โพ she only wants the best for italy and she doesnโt mind making sacrifices but she didnโt know that sheโd need to sacrifice her own body. her pregnancy was kept a secret to the public and so was the fact that she had a miscarriage. that sheโd never be able to provide an heir. she felt like that helpless child again when the doctor told her that her body was too weak, the birth of another baby probably ending with her death.ย
โพ when the plague hits italy, again all she can do is watch her country fall to shambles. yet, she doesnโt want the kingdoms to work together, she doesn't wants to rely on anyone else and believes that the root of their problems must be fixed first without any influence of outsiders and promises that can be easily broken.

ย ย despite the endless length of the day, and the sullen mood that had settled heavy on the kingโs shoulders, he lay restless under the quilts & propped against the plush pillows. the bed was, admittedly, grand & a lounge of luxury, but he still found means to prod unhappily at the fabric & stuffing, displeased with the differences it posed from his ownย bed back home in rome. a slight sound of scuffing - a chair, perhaps, pushing backwards as someone rose from it or sank down into the cushions. eliseoโs eyes opened, and a small glow came from under the doorframe that led into the shared sitting room connecting his bedroom to the queenโs.ย
ย ย so - narisa was awake, too. in the safe solitude of his darkened bedroom, eliseo gave a smile at the realization, not even noticing the small uptick in mood, and thew his legs over the side of the bed & into the soft slippers left for him below. a hesitation caught his hand just before pushing open the connecting door, and eliseo grabbed an overcoat hanging nearby before continuing into the room, disrupting narisaโs own solitude in their shared living space between their individual rooms.ย โthe pocket seam has come loose again,โ eliseo greeted his queen, unceremoniously, holding up the decadent (but dated, older than heโd like to admit) fabric for her to see in the brilliant firelight.ย โit needs mended before i can wear it again,โ he added, setting it down near her, and taking a seat of his own in the lounge across from the robe. a convenient excuse to strike up a conversation - eliseo cared little for that particular coat, anyhow.ย โyou should have seenย the violist the swiss had for tea this afternoon,โ the king wasted no time in his complaining, lips pressing together and a leg crossing widely over the other, comfortable & relaxed into the cushions.ย โiโve never seen a more disorganized, sweaty, confused blunder of a musician. iโm surprised he managed to swindle his way past the palace guards. if there areย any guards, at this point. the security here is so disappointing. a surprise weโre not all murdered in our sleep. how was yourย day, then?โ

the sound of the door opening caused her to raise and straighten her back. even in her fatigue, always remaining a queen, wondering what she was trying to prove to him. herself. โ again ? iโm afraid iโve overestimated myself when i offered to sew it up for you. โ despite her anger, her tone carried the usual monotony, stating the blunt observation of her own inability. โ do you want me to sew it up for you again ?
