When half the class is gone...

If I’m gonna spend more time reteaching a lesson for the kids who were out than I did teaching the lesson the first time, hardly seems like there’s a point to having actual class that day.

So we watched “Mystery Spot”.  I think I’ve recruited a few new fans for the show.

I am entirely jealous. The closest I’ve come is using the SPN parody to teach folk vs pop culture in geography. And the kids were like “Waaaaait. THAT’S not Taylor Swift!”

Dean & Emmanuel

When Dean faces Emmanuel for the first time, realizes he’s just found his dead friend, it’s completely overwhelming, for a hundred reasons. 

But one of those reasons is that Castiel is finally happy. This must be just how Cas looked at Dean raking those leaves outside the home he created with Lisa and Ben. Cas needed help, but he was unwilling to tear Dean from that life. Dean deserved to be at peace, happy. So he left with Crowley instead. 

Now, Castiel is Emmanuel, and he’s confused, but he’s happy. He’s married to Daphne, who obviously adores him and supports him, and he’s helping people. The poor man even gets to wear a sweater. So part of Dean must be shredded to find that Cas is alive, but Emmanuel is happy.

Emmanuel is the only one who can save his brother, though, and Dean won’t fail Sam. But part of him must want very badly to let Cas be done, to let him be out, to let him be Emmanuel. There are other reasons Dean’s heart is torn out when he sees Castiel, but I think at least one reason is this: He’s about to end the peace and happiness Cas has finally found, that he deserves, and that he won’t ever be able to have again, once he remembers.
