”(time)”
or time in brackets** **
Group exhibition at “ArcadeCardiff” https://arcadecardiff.co.uk/2017/06/ ** **
cooperation with Rebecca Vinesse** **
Time and Space as two key players in our perceptabe universe are closely examined especially where and when they overlap. On one hand Time as an individual palpable force with the simultaneous paradox of its universality and on the other hand Space as simple construct with its complex interpretations. Therefore (time) is a detective agency as well as a transmediale installation that combines gallery, study, research center, and documentation. It fuses art practice with social and interactive elements and incorporate them into an research process. A place of posibility has been opened and invites into conversation. And tea.

“knabenseminarstraße 29″ „The three artists Alexandra Mitterhuber, Linda Mühlbacher and Barbara Post realised a site-specific conceptual work combining aspects from different art forms, such as installation, performance, music, stage and film set, woven into its own universe that does not follow a linear narration but opens various approaches - in the literal sense.“ - Dagmar Schink

“…there is no beginning” This space installation/performance focuses on spacial and atmospheric perceptions. After a brief glare at the entree, visitors pass by curtains and fog on their way upstairs to the main installation: a room with one bed, two projectors and countless white boxes stapled on top of each other. Among those items there is a man in white playing the melancholic tunes on the violin as calm, whimsical, wave-like motions in blue are being projected onto him. Space, sound, atmosphere put visitors into a state of dreaming or trance.

“Zitat” “Quote” What defines the physical presence of a person in a room? Is it really only the presence of a body? Or would an illusion of it evoke the feeling of a person’s presence? These questions are at the center of zitat, an installation in a white-cube space down in a basement. Three white boxes are sitting on the floor, each one of them big enough for one of the artists to fit under. Whistling sounds coming out of the boxes create the impression that someone could be sitting underneath. The questions mentioned above are left unanswered.

“hendlknochen”
“chicken bone”
Inspired by a chalk sketch of a heart pierced by a bone, found on a wall in Marrakesh, the three artists founded their label 4040 Urfahrproductions and published their one-hit- wonder Hendlknochen, accompanied by a music video. Male chauvinistic behaviour of locals towards female European tourists made the artists wonder, how painful a poultry bone piercing one’s heart would be.
