atsushi being super new to romantic relationships (or loving relationships in general, but that's beside the point) so he assumes dazai will lead at first, and he can pick up on that, since dazai is the experienced one here. but dazai is utterly foreign to atsushi's soft, sincere touch, so when atsushi very timidly kisses him with all the nervousness but love all the same, dazai is the one who ends up all flustered and confused and tries to play it off by laughing

atsushi realizes then that dazai is also new to being loved so openly like this, so he endeavors to learn how to accept it alongside dazai

I really liked the coffee shop idea and the concept of Dazai having a crush on customer Atsushi: mainly because he's giving him coffee for free!! But I hope it was okay that I added Atsushi having a bad day, seeing Dazai being a godsend!!

They requested some ability mishap shenanigans, so I thought about Dazai getting super sick, meaning he can finally, FINALLY, squeeze Atsushi's pink tiger toe beans!

I had lots of fun with Atsushi, drawing him shirtless and buff with stretch marks just cuz.

2026 | 21 | my humble contribution to the dazatsu exchange 2026, a fluffy swap au piece for @reinthedarkness0! dazai is figuring out the most efficient position for shadowing his new mentor. (being a workplace menace takes a bit more creativity when you have yet to secure your newly acquired employment status. atsushi is not gonna tell him that he has no intention of throwing him back into the proverbial river. or that his attempts skew more cute than disruptive. at least for a little while longer.)
