Introducing me and my blog

Hey everyone thought new year would be a good moment to pop this up as a starter for ten on me.

My blog is fairly new and I’m using my obsession with Doctor Who and Big Finish Audios to help me learn how to write creatively.

Married, working in political research for a university, trying my damndest to provide evidence based and intersectional policy advice to help all groups of students flourish, especially those who have been historically underrepresented in HE or who are minority communities on campus - I’m a bit of a workaholic so doctor who helps keep me sane when the politics gets intolerable (*gestures at the bin-fire that is British Politics*)

I always try to tag my work with any potential triggers for mental health and all subjects contained within each fiction.

FAN LETTER Tom Van Helsing to Sam [REDACTED] Dated October 13th 2017

To Sam, Thank you so much for your amazing fan letter, man! Much better written than anything I could write when I was sixteen. I also loved the comic included, I will treasure it deeply. I am so happy to sign your posters of Sam Von Bloodgorge for you. These were some of my favourite shots from the second film. Please find them enclosed. I am sorry to hear your mum has not been supportive with your transition, and I wanted to let you know that I understand that feeling. I had a few people in my life who were telling me it was the worst thing I could do, but you will find your family, the one that supports you. Focus right now on existing, because living your life your authentic way is a much more powerful fuck you than anything else. I’ve included in this package a support booklet from the charity I support regarding Trans Youths. If you need anything, there’s a hotline on there you can call. I wanted to say too, that choosing the name Sam after my character made me very emotional. I think you might be the first person that I know of to do that since taking this gig and transitioning. Sam is a wicked name after all. It took me a little while to come to a conclusion on Tom, but when a name feels right, there isn’t a better feeling. There will be much to learn in the coming weeks, and much I am sure you are eager to ask, but I wish to take a minute to address the heart of The Holmwood Foundation—our core value.  Ever since Dame Harker and Lord Godalming created us, we have pursued a singular purpose: to prevent the reanimation of Count Dracula, and to study the lasting effects of vampirism on the human body. In your time here, everything you do will support this cause. You will find your employee handbook and the rest of your onboarding plan in your welcome packet. I encourage you to contact your new team members and manager with any questions you may have.  As I am sure you are aware, any attempts to spread even the most tentative company information beyond the walls of your central facility, or indeed beyond your personal team, will be met with the highest punitive measure this company can afford.
