Felt good to get out there and sweat my tits off yesterday. Thanks again, sun, for reminding me who’s really in charge.
My form looked pretty solid and I took everything to the advanced options, so I’m feeling pretty proud of my progress. I just need to lay off the wine now.
Namaste, bitches. 🧘🏼♀️ ❤️

Just bought a $50 Bluetooth water bottle. Fuck. I need to get more water in while I’m at home. I always do really well at work because it’s easy and I’m not distracted by tv or other shit, so 100 oz is doable in a matter of a shift, but at home I’m lucky if I can squeeze in 32 oz. The Hidrate Spark 2.0 glows periodically to remind me to keep drinking, tracks how much matter I’ve had with a sensor inside, and sends info to my phone, which connects to my Fitbit app. It seriously can’t get easier than this. I’ve continued enjoying my Daily Harvest meals. I just received my second box, even though I haven’t quite finished the contents of my first box. I’m going to adjust my order so I get more smoothies. Having the smoothies in the morning have made my life so much easier and and most of them are so yummy, I eat those up so quickly. Plus I can add my protein to them, so whammo. It’s cheaper than running to Arden’s Garden every day for a fresh smoothie (although I still make pit stops through out the week when I’m stuck at work, so, you know, whatever). I’m almost through with the Skinnymint 28 day Teatox and I’m proud to report that I’ve lost… *drumrolls* … 15 pounds! Holy shit. I didn’t expect this to work. At all. And maybe it’s all diet and exercise. Maybe the tea didn’t do much for me at all. But I know it did two big favors for my body: It gave me a routine that energized and motivated me, and it made me shit my brains out. Seriously. If I weighed myself when I woke up and I didn’t feel impressed by the numbers I saw on the scale, I would just wait an hour or so for the inevitable intestinal movement, poop everything out all at once, then weigh myself again and Shazam! Another pound down the toilet! 👍 💩 🚽 Once this 28 days is up, I’m going to give my tummy a break and then start round 2. I don’t care how expensive it is. I’m seeing results and I don’t want to change anything until I’m happy with my weight again. I’ve been adding vitamins to my diet. Like a lot. I’ve been reading about how alcoholism can lead to vitamin deficiencies, so as a recovering alcoholic, I’m doing my best to reverse any damage I did over the past decade. On top of a multivitamin chew, I’ve added a probiotic chew, iron, calcium, biotin (for that good hair), magnesium citrate, fish oil, and my Skinnymint gummies. I had to buy one of those pill cases that old people love so much because my night stand was getting overrun with pill bottles. Oi. I feeling old. I’ve been doing Yoga with Kassandra’s June Styles of Yoga classes and I’ve been annoyed at how behind I’ve gotten the past few weeks. I’m doubling up every day to make up the difference, sometimes doing 3 or 4 classes in a day before bed, but then I’m also behind on my journal exercises and lunar yoga routines. I haven’t completed a lunar yoga activity the day I was supposed to in months. Nor have I even come close to finishing last month’s book. I think I’m just going to move on to this month’s book and let it go. I need to get back on track and stop playing catch up. It’s frustrating as hell. Oh well. Namaste, bitches. 🧘🏼♀️ 🖤 🤬
In this poorly shot video, I struggle through a somewhat fast-paced flow with some advanced poses. Many people have recommended recording myself during my home practice to help see where I need to improve, so here are some notes for myself:
1. I need to figure out a better camera situation. Many of my standing poses you can’t even see, there’s an awful flare from the ceiling light, it’s blurry, and the video cuts off a few minutes from the end, which is fine because I just missed some laying spinal twists and savasana, but still. I’m going to have to do more on this end if this is something in committed to doing to improve my practice.
2. I’m rounding my bad I slightly during chattaranga. If it looks like I’m struggling a bit, that’s because I fucking am. I’ve just gotten to a point with my arms where I’m strong enough to hold myself halfway off the floor instead of going all the way down, and I guess you can see that tension from my arms carrying through to my back and hips I’ll try to remember to lower my hips in the future.
3. I’m improving on some harder poses! My favorite moments from this flow were getting bound triangle pose, getting better at eka pada 2 (even if I fell on the first side, which is TOTALLY ALRIGHT), and dancer’s pose (even if I lost my balance coming in and out of it which is TOTALLY ALRIGHT). I can see where my strength and flexibility is improving after 6 months.
4. I’m doing really well about “going with the flow.” This flow moved a bit fast for me and incorporated some poses I’m either unfamiliar with or am not ready to do ( like grasshopper or tripod headstands) so I just waited those out and sent some compassionate encouragement to myself because someday I will be able to do those poses. Anytime I fell or lost balance, I got back up and got back in it with little frustration. I’m fact, I might have just found it pretty damn hilarious. And as for getting lost a little with how fast the flow was moving? Fuck it. I just did it at my own pace and felt proud at the end. Go me.
I kind of wish my first video hasn’t been such a wacky flow since I’d really like to take a look at my fundamentals, but there’s always tomorrow. It’s a mixed bag of good and bad. Room to improve. Things to celebrate.
And just so you know, I wrote this whole post from the toilet because this teatox is destroying my insides!
Namaste!

I’ve started adding the Daily Harvest smoothies to my morning routine and I’m in love! Yesterday I tried the Mango + Greens smoothie which was pretty good, but this morning I’m REALLY FUCKING enjoying the Blueberry + Hemp smoothie. I love berries more than anything in the whole goddamn to begin with, but the blend with greens, figs, walnut, ginger, and hemp protein (which I have never had before) is so perfect and yummy. And I believe this is one of their lower carb, higher fat/protein smoothies, so it works relatively well on my low carb diet. I just add a scoop of the Designer Protein Lite Vanilla Cupcake Protein to add some oomf before my workout. So THAT’S working well for me. As for the Skinny Mint Teatox... I have mixed reports. I’m getting results. I’ve lost 6 lbs already this week which is astronomical. But the way I’m losing it is a bit unsavory. The cleansing tea makes me shit every hour. On the hour. And it’s not exactly pleasant. My stomach is crampy. I need to stay near a bathroom at all times. I’ve heard a few people say the first week can be rough, but it’s worth it if you stick with it. I’m hoping these effects will subside for my butt’s sake, but again. I’m getting results. Losing weight is a messy business.
<p>Had to take lunch to work with me. Popped this Daily Harvest red lentil kitchari harvest bowl in the microwave for four minutes and enjoyed at the bar. It was yummy! The portion was smallish, but lentils are pretty filling so I’m feeling reenergized and ready to start my all-night shift. I know the last picture doesn’t do it justice since I didn’t think to take a picture of it until I already ate most of it, but I wanted to give an idea of the texture and ingredients inside. I’m impressed with Daily Harvest so far!
Giving the Skinny Mint Teatox bundle a try. I usually would avoid anything with the word “skinny” in the name like the plague, but I’ve been struggling with bloating lately and I want to try anything that might help. The Teatox is a 28 day program consisting of a cup of the caffeinated Morning Power tea every morning and 2 Power Up Super Fat Burning Gummies every morning with breakfast, and 2 Hunger Buster Super Fat Burning Gummies every night with dinner or a snack, and the Night Cleanse tea every other night. Skinny Mint promotes that their tea blend and gummies can help reduce bloat, drop weight, and cleanse your body by giving you energy, supporting your metabolism, curbing cravings, and stimulating your GI tract.
I just started this morning, so as you can I spent the morning setting aside a take-to-work kit (because I’ll forget to bring it with me everyday) for my long and irregular shifts I work almost daily, and prepping my first breakfast round. I drink a protein shake every morning I’m at home, so I brewed my tea while I chopped fruit and blended my smoothie, then put it in my favorite Atlanta United travel cup over ice! I drank both simultaneously, and I can feel the energy already. It’s similar to the way a cup of Yerba mate perks me up and gets me going, but tastes much better! I never drink teas with sweeteners, so I really appreciate that the blend is naturally good.
The gummies kind of threw me off at first because they are bright green, but smell like a Starbucks. I’ve never had coffee flavored gummies before but they were actually yummy. I struggle with not eating all my gummy vitamins at once every morning because I really love gummy candy. It’s my crack!
Maybe it’s just the excitement of a new regiment, but I feel pretty positive and chipper this morning! Now to tackle some poses on my mat after I polish off this tea!

Received my first order of Daily Harvest meals in the mail the other day and I finally tried my first meal for lunch a few days ago. Was pretty yummy and easy to make! I’m excited!
Daily Harvest is a whole, healthy food option for folks looking to eat clean on the run. Everything is flash frozen so you don’t lose taste or nutrients, and delivered straight to your door. It kind of blew my mind when I read about it and I had to try it as part of my new lifestyle changes.
I work long hours as a bartender and manager, and can’t always cook meals the way I used to. I try not to eat out too often since it costs so much, and quick meals at home can be chock full of yucky preservatives and processed garbage. This is hopefully going to be a good option for me as it saves me time, is portioned perfectly, and gets delivered to my door so I don’t even have to go shopping for ingredients!
My first meal was the mushroom and miso ramen. It contained 4 different types of mushrooms, squash noodles, fresh ginger, spinach, and a bunch of other yummy veggies I can’t remember off the top of my head, but it was really good! To prep it, I moved it from the freezer to the fridge overnight to let it soften and thaw so it wouldn’t be stuck inside the cup. Then, following the directions on the cup, I filled the cup to the top with water, dumped all the contents of said cup in a pan, and cooked it over medium heat until it was hot and ready to eat. Then I scooped it back into the travel cup from whence it came, and did a happy little lap around the house while I enjoyed my lunch, as you can see in the last sweaty, post-yoga picture of me above.
I’m really stoked about this product and can’t wait to share more yummy meals as I figure out which I like the most and will work best for me on my diet.
