when i complain about certain aspects of the art direction feeling Kind Of Off in air riders this is what i’m complaining about. it’s a beautiful game for the most part but a lot of it feels too uncannily sleek. replacing kirby’s cute iconic flip phone with a flat tablet screen. the robobot-esque modern city in rural backwater dream land. the nova redesign. the corporate minimalistic logo. heartbreaking.
