How to prepare for a trip!

When preparing for a trip, there are always several factors to take into account, which can make this process tiring and confusing when you have an active and busy life. For that you have us, PPATH will help you with all the planning and organisation of all the necessary details, without letting you fall into the most typical mistakes of many travellers.

Last tip: never, if you can avoid it, buy your airline tickets through someone other than the airline itself. This is especially true for the various types of "cheap deals" from online travel agents.

Saving a few euros may seem attractive, but if something goes wrong with your trip - a missed connection, a cancelled flight - you may end up having to contact them, free of charge and wait for the customer service team to start answering the phone. Still, they will likely have to talk to the airline, which can take days. Find your best price and visit the airline's website.

So to put it all of these points into context, TripAdvisor started in 2000 and built a huge following as a “trusted source of travel information”. Once it gained a dominant share of the market, the number of fake reviews skyrocketed, resulting in multiple court cases around the world. But instead of taking measures to verify and guarantee the reliability of the reviews, they simply changed the “trust” slogan to “the biggest” and began making money as a booking engine, charging companies for preferential visibility, acquiring the booking engines like Viator to profit from the tours they supposedly recommend without bias, and pressuring companies to give up 20–30% of their sales in commissions for added “access to traffic”. The lack of transparency hurts travelers because they think all of the businesses are fairly represented on TripAdvisor, and because their size and power now means they are too big to ignore, pressuring small businesses to work “with” them in order to protect their business reputation.
