Ray and Redman want to remind you to shop small business! Horse hair bracelets!!
Ray lucked out on a home with me. He's won himself a life of leisure, lucky him, lucky me! We will be limited to the Hunter on the Flat division due to an old low bow that didn't heal correctly as a 2 year old. He is sound but there is no way I would even test the scarring on the tendon, we don't need to jump to have a great life/riding career. I think he'll be loved in the flat ring, he's such a HAM!!!!
Can I just talk about how lucky I am to have such a beautiful guy and for him to have such a sexy natural top-line?
NOTE: I guess I should add content to my terminology before the all mighty horse guru's get snippy. Yes I know technically the topline is the porting between the withers and the croup but with the typical topline exercises ie: rounding up, working on collection, pivoting on the backend also tend to typically develop the top line of the neck and the neck muscles.
Thank you Www.apinchofluck.com
And the name is: Ray!
I’m really enjoying this new guy, he’s very smart and sweet as can be! The name inspiration was total Hubs The Farrier, he said his star looked sort of like a sting ray and we went with it. The name suits him well and he already whinnies to it when he’s called!
I wish I would afford these
I am so delighted to announce and introduce my new guy! He doesn't have a name yet but he is 16.3hh of 4 year old unraced love!!! Cannot wait to get my hands on him tomorrow!
Western vs. English
This is my favourite thing ever
Both beautiful disciplines
i never want to get married and have kids i want to be 40 and a highly successful director and show up to my high school reunion dressed entirely in yves saint laurent with blood red lipstick and louboutin heels that could penetrate a man’s soft flesh in the current year’s bmw convertible and wear chanel sunglasses the entire time even while indoors so i don’t have to hold eye contact with the little people
This is great but I have one problem with this. The sun glasses indoors to avoid contact with “the little people” is so fucking rude it destroys this whole aspiration. It’s disrespectful, no matter how accomplished you are you should show respect to everybody nobody is above or better then anybody.
The Grand Prix Special was a fabulous class and like I wrote in my report, it feels like a new dawn of dressage has finally started. I’m so happy that the days of pulling are almost finally over. It has taken the judges years to finally see through all the flash, electricity and super spectacularly moving horses that inccorect training was at the basis of it. Now we see more and more horses that are beautifully ridden, soft in the hand and can be as impressive in their movement mechanism without a rider forcing them into learned helplessness. If you see riders like Langehanenberg, Vilhelmson, zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, Steffen Peters, and a new comer such as Laura Graves rewarded for their work it makes my heart flutter. Dujardin is also part of this new generation. Her contact may not be as light as the former five, and she certainly is riding on that Olympic halo points-wise, but there is no blue tongue nor a gaping mouth with her horse and harmony prevails over flash. I can only say bravo to the judges who have the guts to down score tense, mechanically moving horses and reward naturally swinging ones that are happy in their work. What a relief.

I have been waiting for these judges for 24 years...
So I’m doing an equestrian themed giveaway to celebrate both the lovely cool weather and the opening of my new equine arts & crafts blog.
I will be choosing a winner on October 1st 2014 at 12 am Pacific Western Time. I will be using a random number generator and the winner will have three days to respond to my message.
PRIZES:
- A custom browband with beads in the colours of your choice. The browband’s colour, size, and shape is fully personalized so that it will fit well and look fantastic on your horse. Browbands will either have beads on the edges like the image above or the beads will be in a channel down the middle (example).
- A portrait of your horse (or another horse of your choice) in colour pencil or graphite pencil. Size is yet to be decided, it will most likely be around 8 x 11 inches.
RULES:
-Must be following me (letters-from-the-sea) and my new DYI blog, showpony-dyi.
-Both reblogs and likes count as entries
-Multiple reblogs = multiple entries
-If you purchase a portrait or browband from me, you will get 10 extra entries. Ordering info HERE.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Is it me or is that bit on backwards?
I didn’t notice that, actually. It does look backwards.
Oh good lord...just because you can doesn't mean you should. This is all kinds of stupid and the bit is on backwards. That's not how you use a poll gag...
HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET YOUR HORSE THAT WHITE?!
Human sacrifice
This isn't white anyways. It's either perlino or cremelo. Still hard to get clean. I say lots and lots of purple shampoo soaked on this baby!
Illustrator Lili Chin's adorable series Dogs of the World illustrates 192 breeds of dogs grouped according to geographical origin.

I find the lack of Border Collie disturbing *squints into the horizon*
((This is still excellent and I may have even missed BC with my fucked up sleep eyes)).
Um, also on the asian dogs, where is the Tibetan Spaniel?
I looove this (but where are the westies?)
So if you guys are in the area and looking for a good farrier, you should totally check out this website.

Polo wraps do not support the legs
POLO WRAPS DO NOT SUPPORT THE LEGS
They prevent damage(legions) from possible over reach, jumping or damage to the legs while trailering. May not support tendons but they have a purpose!
I never said they don’t have a purpose. That being said, PLEASE DO NOT TRAILER YOUR HORSE IN POLO WRAPS. PLEASE USE STANDING WRAPS
You don't NOT ALWAYS have to trailer your horse in standing wraps. For short trailer rides polo wraps are just fine!
