Litha

Since Litha is soon, I decided to make some research to make a post about it :)

What is Litha?

Litha (a Lesser sabbat), or "summer solstice", marks the longest day of the year. After that, the days will get shorter. It takes place usually between June 20 and 23. If you want the real, specific date, you can look it up! It can change every year.

On that day, we celebrate the light and the first harvest. It is time to reap what you sow (physically and spiritually), so looking back at what you were able to do and all the progress you've made is a great way to appreciate this sabbat. Write down what you got in the past year or months and look at how much has changed, for the better.

What to do for Litha?

Make sure you have yellow, pink, white, blue and/or green on you! Be it with your outfit, your makeup, or jewelry.

Garnet, sunstone, tiger's eye, ruby, amber, carnelian, citrine, peridot, moonstone, onyx, opal, fluorite, jade and rose quartz are crystals you should have with you! (If you don't have any of them, don't panic: buying things is never a must for witchcraft)

Make and/or eat food! For Litha, anything with lavender, rose or honey is a good idea (like honey cakes or lavender iced tea.) Strawberries, citrus fruit, grapes (so wine) and dairy products are also a good idea! Make sun tea with fruit in it. (If you don't know: sun tea is when you infuse tea under the sun) Go pick up wild flowers (if you're allowed to where you live!)

Watch the sunset and enjoy the sun for the whole day (if it's safe for you to do so!)

Go walk in the forest or enjoy nature any way you can!

Have a campire or light candles! Litha is associated to fire, so enjoy its warmth and light! BUT if you are to make a campfire, be sure to respect the rules where you live!!! If there's too much wind, it hasn't rained for days or if you even just do not have the space nearby for a campfire, just light a candle. The intent is still there.

Personally, I will make green iced tea with honey, try to enjoy the sun and do a tarot reading for myself. If I have more time, I'll go take a walk :)

Witch things to add in your room, poor person edition

Fuck it Most of witchcraft people tell you to buy shit. So here's some stuff u can do for free

grab some sticks from the ground, bind them together in a shape you like, add intent (usually protection), hang it up

make a flower crown, add protection intent, dry it out, hang it up. protection spell and real ward. regularly recharge intent.

dry plants, set warding intent, hang them up.

crushed eggshells on your window sill to prevent bad energy.

wear a bandana or veil somewhere on your body, sometimes i use mine as belts, to protect from bad vibes.

paint your nails in the color meaning you want. mine are pink for self attraction rn

when you light up a candle always ask if theres a spirit or entity there, pyromancy skills can be learned through google, tumblr, and tiktok.

Regularly clean and rearrange your altar if you can't practice everyday, this keeos the space clean and shows entities around that even if ur not active, you're still a witch

A cup of water can be an offering to anyone, imagine being an entity and you can't have water at all for centuries??

If you have glasses, draw a sigil on them while you clean them (i usually wash mine with soap and water to make it extra clean ((and dry with paper towels)))

Give your wall art jobs. Sure they can be decorative, or they can be extra eyes to watch you while you sleep to make sure no one messes with you. (Ive had so much wall art fall in the middle of the night and turns out smth was trying to get in my room...)

If you have black-out/thick curtains, let the sun in!!! I keep them tied during the day so i can use natural light and ease up my electricity bill

Change ur bedsheets semi regularly, it doesn't need to be every week, but keep in mind bedbugs and other entities can get trapped there... or even try to get there to make your sleep unrestful.

If your room is a bio-hazard, at least make pathways so you can walk without injuring yourself.

Graveyard Etiquette🪦

Before you go protect yourself you don't want a spirit attached to you.

Bring coins as offerings to the gatekeepers.

Bring with you offering for the spirits (food, water, flowers ect...) and leave it by a tree or away from the headstones for the spirits.

Make sure you don't step on anyone and apologiz if you do by accident.

Clean up neglected tombstones.

Ask before you take dirt. Use your intuition or divination to get a response.

Don’t take anything that is left for the dead.

Don't leave trash behind and if you find trash clean it.

Leave the way you came.

Netkheru reptiles III

Hoy vamos con la parte tres de esta serie llamada ''Netkheru reptiles'', serie donde les hablaré sobre los distintos netkheru y netkherut con características reptilianas, sus correspondencias, sus representaciones y sus asociaciones y/o sincretismos.

9) Apedemak

Sincretizado con una netkher cuyo nombre se desconoce, Apedemak es el netkher de las guerras, es representado cómo un hombre con cabeza de león o cómo un hombre con cuatro brazos y tres cabezas de león, pero ¿Qué tiene que ver Apedemak aquí? Bueno, si prestaron atención en los anteriores post de la serie ''Netkheru felinos'' sabrán que Apedemak también era representado con características reptilianas, pues otra de sus representaciones era la de una serpiente con cabeza de león.

10) Heket/Heqet

Netkher asociada a los partos, partera en si misma, la vida, protectora de personas embarazadas y la fertilidad, Heket es quien le da vida a les recién nacides poniendo el Ankh en sus bocas y narices.

Cuando una persona quedaba embarazada, Heket protegía a la vida que estaba dentro y una vez nacida la criatura, la netkher le daría el aliento de la vida.

Es representada cómo una rana o una mujer con cabeza de rana.

11) Kebehut/Kebechet

Personificación del agua fría y asociada al sol y al río Nilo, hija de Inpu (Anubis), Anteriormente vista cómo una netkher celeste, es decir, asociada a los cielos. Kebehut es la netkher funeraria quien protege al faraón y reina en vida y en muerte, les brinda agua despues de la muerte y purifica sus Ba con sus jarrones de agua.

Fue asociada con las netkherut Nebt-Het (Neftis) y Het-Heret (Hathor) en su faceta de funeraria.

Es representada cómo una mujer con cabeza de cobra, portando uno o dos jarrones de agua.

12) Tutu

De Tutu también hablamos en post pasados, y es que es el netkher de los demonios y, a su vez, es quién se encarga de ahuyentarlos, se le representa rodeado de demonios, emisarios de Sekhmet, y es representado cómo una esfinge con cola de serpiente, cuerpo de león y cabeza humana y, si recordarán por los post pasados, también se le suele representar con cabezas de halcones y/o de cocodrilos saliendo de su cuerpo.

Known as: Artemis herb, artemisia, artemisia herb, cingulum sancti johannis, felon herb, muggons, naughty man, old man, old uncle Henry, sailor's tobacco & St.John plant

Related plants: A member of the daisy family Asteraceae that consists of over 32,000 known species of flowering plants in over 1,900 genera within it such as chamomile, coneflowers, dahlia, daisy, dandelion, goldenrod, lettuce, marigold & sunflower

Parts used: Leaves & flowers

Habitat & cultivation: Common mugwort is native to Europe and Eastern Asia. Mugwort was brought into North America as early as the 1600’s for medicinal purposes. It spread throughout the Northeastern U.S. as a contaminant on ships and nurseries.

Plant type: Perennial

Region: 3-8

Harvest: The flowering tops of mugwort should be collected once they bloom or right before the blooms open. The leaves of mugwort plants should be collected before the plant flowers. Older leaves & flowers are significantly more bitter

Planting tips: Mugwort seeds can benefit from a special 1 to 2 week treatment called cold moist stratification prior to planting them & need cold weather to break down germination inhibitors. The seeds require light to germinate, so be careful not to cover them when planting. Mugwort does not like to be overwatered & is very drought tolerant. It is also an invasive weed & best kept in a container.

Medicinal information: Historically mugwort has been used in traditional systems of medicine in different parts of the world. Today, mugwort taken orally is promoted for digestive problems, irregular menstruation, and high blood pressure. It is also promoted as a sedative, laxative, anti-inflammatory & liver tonic. Mugwort lotion applied topically can aid in itching caused by hypertrophic scars & When being smoked, it exhibits mild intoxicating properties & strong relaxing properties.

Cautions: Mugwort should not be taken by pregnant people because it may start menstruation and cause the uterus to contract. Little is known about whether it’s safe to use mugwort while chestfeeding. Mugwort might cause an allergic reaction in people with pollen sensitivities
