So, it pretty clearly wasn’t a cat that was up there, and her stuttering about it more or less confirmed it. But there was no way she was lying about the second part–who would use something this obviously suspicious to play some kind of trick?
“I mean, I guess I could help.”
So, he had a soft spot for cute girls. Sue him.
If he’d had his superspeed, he could have gotten the “cat” down in the blink of an eye, but things were going to be tricky like this. He shrugged a bit and started climbing up the tree, branch by branch, until he was perched below the cat-like creature and looking at her warily.
“Here, kitty, kitty…” he muttered, reaching his hands out to grab her.
❇ “Thank you so much! I’m grateful!”
Hikari was relieved there were still good Samaritans out there. She held her breath and watched the older boy climb up to retrieve Tailmon.
Tailmon narrowed her eyes back at the stranger and almost scoffed and rolled her eyes at his beckoning. Nonetheless, she still pretended to be an actual cat. She yowled, clearly disgruntled, but allowed the young male to grab her, while clutching to the hat tightly. Hikari was waiting.
From below, the Digidestined girl let out a sigh in relief when she saw Tailmon was in his arms-- but the situation wasn’t over yet until her Digimon was on the ground. She prayed the Cat Digimon would tolerate being manhandled (or should the correct term be digi-handled?) for little bit longer while the nice stranger was saving her.
