Never underestimate the power of cookies.
This idea could be used with letters, numbers, words whatever you are working with to make it fun and hands in. The original egg illustration came from all about learning. it's also included in their program level one and free currently.
I wrote numbers in the bottom of a cake holder then covered it in green sand. I threw in some Shopkins to make play more fun.
Every now and again they would uncover a number and we would try to identify the number. Math and sensory center making math fun!
The kids definitely love the sensory aspect. We recently switched this up and did uncover and read silent e words which totally worked too.
I will say the sand already being in the pan makes writing new things more difficult lol.
Check out the game sleeping queens for your 6-8 yr olds. There is a little strategy and addition practice 😀.
Has anyone noticed the funny publishing page on the Mo Willem Pigeon books?
Indoor daily challenge:
Play a card game.
This can be a simple memory match, a math based game or more traditional card game depending on age of child.
Teach your monster to Read is free untill the 22 of September!!! Check it out! Its usually 4.99 one time purchase but now free. This is a great deal for young learners when it comes to phonics.
My young one has enjoyed it. I only wish they would add a periodic check of what sounds the child knows to prevent it from being too repetitive sometimes.
Check it out untill Sept 22, 2020! https://usborne.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=68559073df769784ef7a041c8&id=232ecd4285&e=d484492b3d

Some resources I'm making for young learners. I plan to make things that were relevant to Pre-K since I taught that age last year and now up to 1st grade .
Question:
My computer keeps telling me flash is no longer supported after this year... supposedly because no one uses it any more.... All the education websites I use, use flash....... Are these going to be updated? Will this cause then to move to the stupid subscription models? Is this a conspiracy against elementary education resources?
We looked at cave paintings in France and then we went on a nature collection hunt and then we painted or colored are paper with the items that we found like a cave painting.
I feel like this activity was a really good fit for us because my child likes The croods so she is familiar with cavemen to some extent in this was something that she could relate to beyond just going on a nature scavenger hunt and doing art.
