Most blacks feel that they automatically have to be defensive because has their preconceived notions about the type of person they seem to be. We are raised to expect that we have to work 10x harder than every one else just because the color of our skin and the oppression put upon us as well as other minorities.Â

Statements like this are not uncommon. Common talk in school-the work force even.
Yet when I try to stand up for myself, I should âLearn my placeâ, but quiet like a good domesticated housewife.
If they can make statements like this, why canât I question them?

We must go through trials and tribulations to make us who we are today. Mistakes help us grow stronger, and yes there will be times when we fail, but thats when we should assure that our faith is stronger than ever.
