The month of June is consecrated to the sacred heart of Jesus. The first Friday of the month is the "Heart of Jesus Friday". On the second Friday to Corpus Christi or on the third Friday after Pentecost, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the high festival of the holiest heart of Jesus, the Pope Pius IX. Introduced for the whole church in 1856.
