Hello once again, America the magnificent. This is your President, John Henry Eden, and I’d like to have a word with you.
Today is a momentous day, my dear America. Yes, it is once again the Fourth of July. Independence Day.
Five hundred years. It really doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, does it, my America? It really is amazing, isn’t it? For a new nation, based on a fragile new idea, to be born, to challenge a mighty empire, to survive in a hostile world. To thrive. To arise from its most humble beginnings to become the greatest, most powerful nation the world has ever seen, and to hold that title against all who would dare take it, and hold it to this very day.
Now, you may be looking at the devastation that surrounds you and scoffing, but mark my words, sweet America. The Enclave has kept the spirit of America, the eternal flame of the American Dream, alive in these long years since the Great War, and soon, sooner than you think, you’ll be able to celebrate your Independence Day in a nation that has been reborn. Reborn with all your old glory and magnificence, and so much more.
Until we meet again, this is your President, John Henry Eden, signing off and wishing you a happy Fourth of July.
And now for another one of my inspirational quotes. From the mouth of your President, John Henry Eden, straight to your heart.
Small civilizations perish for any number of reasons, but great civilizations die only when they no longer want to live.
"Patience is a virtue, Colonel."
Hello again, sweet America. This is John Henry Eden, your President, and I'd like to chat, if that's alright.
Today is the fourth Thursday of November, and that means it's Thanksgiving. Back before the war, American families would gather on Thanksgiving Day. They would eat a great feast, centered traditionally around a roast turkey, reconnect with each other, and give thanks for the multitude of blessings they had.
That sounds like a cruel joke, doesn't it, America?
In America today, still devastated by atomic war, there are no great feasts. Families are too often torn apart by the all-too-frequent deaths of loved ones due to the horrors that war and its aftermath have spawned. You look around, and you doubt that you have anything at all to be thankful for.
But that's where you're wrong, my darling America.
Even laid low by nuclear bombardment, this is still America, and the blessings that turned this into the greatest, most powerful nation on Earth are still here. And the Enclave is working to restore all of them all to the way they were.
And when our work is done, my America, you will see just how much you truly have to be thankful for.
Until we meet again, this is President John Henry Eden signing off, and wishing you a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

theflagbearer-ulysses replied to your post: Mr. President. Though I made my stance clear when...
Words alone won’t be enough, no, you’ll need to see this threat for yourselves. If you need to send a team over to the Divide, I would welcome them and show them first hand what we’re dealing with.
I see. If words fail even someone like you, Ulysses, in describing the nature of this threat, well then...
Preparations to send a task force to the Divide will begin immediately.
Mr. President. Though I made my stance clear when your colonel arrived, something has happened, something that would threaten the visions of all in America, including your own.
This is indeed disturbing news, Ulysses. What has happened, and what can the Enclave do to counteract this rising menace to my darling America?
We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita… “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” - Robert Oppenheimer
Mr. President, are y' ever gonna come out to Nevada again? I've never met a President before, it'd be pretty neat!
Unfortunately, in the interests of national security and due to the continuing state of emergency, I am not at liberty to discuss my movements.
oh look I made an Enclave thing
If anyone’s wondering, the song is Under the Iron Sky by the Kaiti Kink Ensemble. uwu
This is the President? I have a question as an enterprising small business owner. I've invented an entire new branch of entertainment, a collectible trading card game, but America's economic status seems..unhealthy. Any advice to apprehensive inventors or salesmen?
I suggest that, when people you offer partnerships in your enterprise have questions they would like answered, you answer those questions. Not answering them leaves a bad impression, makes one look unprofessional, and quickly depletes others' goodwill towards you.
Doing this on multiple occasions only increases the self-inflicted damage exponentially, and can quickly prove fatal for any business venture.
We'll show those commies what for, right Mr. President? Hooah!
Yes, Sergeant, we certainly shall.
