No.. No, I don’t have to touch the thing. I can just point or wave my hand.. It really depends how low my inhibitions are on what control I have on it. [he raised his brow] Super speed? That’s pretty cool and not at all destructive.

Even better and somewhat terrifying.

Only if you're unimaginative. It might not be pretty, but when you can move faster than the eye can see your opponent never really has a chance. Not to mention if I want to heal, I can be a thousand miles away in seconds.

Good.. It’s called shattering. Pretty self explanatory. I can make things shatter.. More like explode, but shattering’s what it’s called. What’s yours?

So you shatter what you touch? That's new. As for me, well, I'm fast. I ran here from California. It didn't take me very long and I was very drunk.

I’ll be sure to remember that. I, uh.. I’ll replace everything I break. But so far only my own things and a vase or two. 62 years on this Earth and I still can’t control the damn thing.

I'm not sulking. Are you really saying you'd rather be out there? You should at least have a drink. I have a tab.

It’s not necessarily my idea of fun either, but acting like a hermit is extremely unattractive, and you’re far too handsome to be considered unattractive.

I have to say, this new place is really working out for me. I may have to buy Preston a thank you bottle of whiskey or vodka or something of the like.. For us both to share, of course.

We have two different definitions of fun. Loud noises, smelly people and fried foodstuff aren't exactly high on my list, Aria.

"More like she’s doomed to love me for the rest of her days.. It’s not like she’s the problem in this equation." He replied with a sigh before nodding. He wasn’t about to ask questions about how the other got his money as it was none of his business and he didn’t really care to know if he were honest. "No, no I suppose I’m not." He got up and tugged his bag out from under the bed before shoving what little clothing and personal belongings he had in there and also gently placing the bottles filled with liquid happiness inbetween the clothes so they wouldn’t get smashed. "Well I have to say, you’re the first one that it’s actually nice to meet. I’d tell you my name, but of course you already know that. That’s me packed."

Preston wasn't sure what to say to Eli. He wasn't interested in coddling the boy nor was the boy interested in being coddled. "Taking all the blame? Very noble of you," he said smugly, shrugging one final time before following Eli's movements through dark eyes until he came to a halt with the lone bag. "Really? That's depressing." He wasn't sure if he was chuckling at how Eli lived life or how little the Amet actually owned.

"The list?" He asked, curious of what list this was and how easy it was to get a hold of it. In the wrong hands, it would be dangerous. His eyes gazed over every inch of the stranger in front of him suspiciously as he finished cleaning up the glass, dumping it in the bin next to the guy. "You don’t know me and you’re asking if I’d like to room with you? I have to say, whilst generous it’s a very stupid offer. I’m known for being reckless and, well, destroying things with or without intent. I can’t pay for replacements, I barely have the money to keep myself occupied here." It was then that Eli paused and looked back to the others face. "So, before I accept, are you sure that offer is still on the table?"

"The one that says you're doomed to love Grace Knight for the rest of your days." Preston was rather straight forward with Eli. Strangers indeed, Preston knew very little about Eli Kline spare his temper and his affinity with breaking things, but he cared little. "Money's not really an issue at this point." And it wasn't. With super speed you could do stupid things, and the best part is you could leave practically without a trace. When Eli gazed back at him for Preston's conclusive answer the man merely shrugged his shoulders and chuckled. "Are you really trying to talk me out of being nice?" Preston shook his head and faintly smiled. "My name's Preston. Preston Sharpe."

Eli couldn’t help but chuckle dryly at that. “Sorry, man.” He replied and looked up at the other male, watching him inspect his room. “I think it’s a little too late for that. Pretty sure I’ll be out by the end of the week if they have their way. They never wanted me here anyway, apparently Dean and Zoe have given me quite the reputation.. How is it you recognise my name? Because of them?”

"Good thing I'm Polish," he chuckled. Preston was unimpressed with the decor of the room, but his expectations had been set rather low as is. Harbor Falls, as a whole, was unimpressive. The town was small, but not too small, but it had very little to offer in terms of raw entertainment. "I'm a bored guy with resources. The list made identifying Amets rather easy." His eyes shifted to the fragmented glass adjacent to Eli and he simply shook his head. "Look," his gaze pulled back to Eli, "I've got a fairly upscale apartment with a few unoccupied rooms. My roommate, Lucas, is late to this little shindig, and if I spend one more night drinking alone I'm probably going to commit arson."

"Whiskey goes down easier than vodka." He murmured in reply, looking up at the other male who had somehow entered his room. "How did you get in here, creeping in the shadows?" Eli sighed and put the bottle on the side whilst he started to clean up the shattered glass.. The cleaning up part was always a pain in the ass. "What do you want? Am I ‘disturbing the peace’ again or some other bullshit excuse to kick me out of this place or, you know, can you leave?"

"Don't say that to a Russian," he replied with a faint smile. Preston halted; sinewy arms crossing over his chest as he ogled the inebriated Amet. "Rather effortlessly, but with very little creeping." Preston too sighed, turning away from Eli and instead investigating any points of interests in the room. "I don't want anything," he said tranquilly, eyes snapping back to Eli now. "I overheard the owner talking about some kid named Eli Kline causing trouble for his business. I recognized the name, so I thought I'd intervene before you end up on the streets."

Right. I get it. Sorry. I just… don’t really know anything about him. Except his name. That’s all I’ve got. 

Sounds like a pretty cool ability to have. And I bet it comes in handy a lot with these hunters lurking around. I will go ahead and apologize in advance if the weather ever gets out of hand. It’s probably my fault.

To be honest he didn't tell me much. I know your name – Kit Stone – and I know that you're the only person from his former life that he ever mentioned. I felt obligated to search you out, you know, see what all the fuss was about.

Weather manipulation, right? I'll have to stay on your good side, then. I have a tendency to keep my ear to the ground, especially in a city filled with Amets.

Eli couldn’t believe it. He’d come all this way for some fucking girl that was going to lie to him about something as stupid as her name, never mind all the other questions that he had in his head. He took a sip from his whiskey and slammed the glass back on the table but as he pulled away it shattered. “Oh for fuck sake.” He cursed before picking the bottle up and just drinking from that instead. At least he had this.. One friend that would never lie to him and his name was Jack Daniels.

"You know," Preston's voice carried forwards clearly, not forcefully, "if you lot keep drinking all the whiskey, I'm going to have to make an investment in one of these bars. Liquor is practically this town's cash crop with all of us drowning our woes night after night... Myself included." He knew not why he approached the man, but he sensed something in him. Something miraculous, something familiar. He'd been there.
