My younger self would be so disappointed that we’re still here
I can't shake the feeling that it's already too late for me. Like whatever chance I had is long gone, and I'm just here, stuck, watching life pass me by.
Anne Truitt, from a diary entry featured in Daybook: The Journal of an Artist

May Sarton, from her book titled "May Sarton: A Self-Portrait," originally published in 1978
I grieve for people who are still alive.
walking, talking, breathing people. people who have cut me deep, people who have hurt me on purpose.
I am homesick for a place I can never go back to and longing for a family that can never be mine again.
There’s a pain inside that’ll never go away but it’s whatever
I’ll disappear like magic.
Deciding between disappearing completely or becoming everything I've ever wanted to be is not for the faint-hearted.
I just need to shut up. Lock it all up. Never let it out.
