#tbt the last week of June 2013

The backlash for being the hypothetical other woman to an Alpha Phi's on-again-off-again boyfriend has given me intense anxiety. After she pushed me into a wall at a Black frat event (and my friends pulled me back by the hair to stop me from beating her whole ass) during winter carnival, it seems everyone is staring at me, and I'm constantly on edge so I'm not caught off guard by the next attack.

I call my Mom so she can congratulate me on controlling my temper, and then my Aunt calls me a day later to chat. 

Sorority girls I don't know glare at me on campus, unknowing that their sister taunted my anger for a whole night, followed me to my dorm, banged on my locked door for hours trying to get me to come out and "talk", calling me every name in the book and reminding me just how little folks think of me on this campus.

For weeks, I am on the run from a woman I could easily take, but can't. 

My Aunt flies from Lansing, MI, to New Hampshire with the guise of "taking a vacation", and then, I believed her. While on campus, she screams at a group of passing women because they're *actually* staring at me, just like every single girl that has passed us as I take my Aunt around campus. We go to the Budweiser factory, and drive around Boston.

The next week, my Mom calls me from Pennsylvania saying that she's coming to visit. We don't stay on campus at all, instead hanging out in a motel room watching TV as they watch me guzzle an entire cooler of homemade fried chicken & other Michigan foods. 

Fall term comes and I attempt to survive, as always. 

Fast forward to today - I have only just realized how much my family missed me when I left for college, and how wrapped up I was in Dartmouth bs to remember how many people love me for me.
