It takes real balls to put yourself at risk of being hurt but it's the only way we can progress and develop as people and experience the journey of life and it's fruits. I have real respect for the fellow people who have the courage to risk their emotions and for the inevitable feeling of pain. But always know, it all ends well. The only thing we actually have to fear is pain itself, emotionally and physically and 99% of the time it's temporary, don't forget that.
