Isn't it important to recognize that despite your ethnicity, the way you look plays a bigger part in how you're treated. It still plays a big part in how we look at them.

I don't look at Halsey or Pete and see an African American role model. I see one artist on this list of people who've gotten me through my own rough times who looks even remotely like me.

Oh, "they're just like us?" Not if they've never feared for their lives driving home. Not if they've never been denied an opportunity because of how they looked.

Oh, Tyler Joseph is of color? Amazing I can't wait to listen to the next album describing the times his brother was sent to jail over marijuana use.

I don't know what this post is trying to prove, but don't think society cares about where you're technically from or what religion you practice in peace. It's what you look like that matters.
