“You wake up in the morning, tired and hipbones a little sore from the pressure of your mattress pushing up against them as you slept on your belly. Slowly gathering your hair up into a great messy bun — the long dirty blonde strands a soft satin against your hands — you sit up and swing your legs over the edge of your bed. Even though you’re sitting, your thighs look tiny — almost an inch away from touching.
Noticing the time you kick into into high gear, snatching the nearest pair of size zero jeans. They slide on easily, the perfect size to cling just right to your protruding hipbones. You throw on the oversized Pink T-shirt that was draped over your desk chair; it hangs off you in the good way, somehow making you look thinner and complementing your skinny jeans perfectly.
Rushing now as the clock flashes in vibrant red letters the time 8:55, you grab a bagel from your stash of food, hidden away in your black suede ottoman. Somehow you have always been able to justify the carby-splurge — it gets you going for the day. Oh sure, bagels and their 280 calories used to leave you craving something more to fill your still semi-empty stomach, but you’ve adjusted and now it’s just right. It’ll last just until 12:07 p.m. comes around — right as you make your way to the dining hall for 260 calories worth of instant oatmeal and perhaps some fruit, depending on whether or not there’s something tropical. At 3:15 your stomach will once again begin to protest, just as you near the 80 calories of glorious gala apple that await you after class. Then there’s the two hours of homework and waiting before you dive into a salad — iceberg lettuce, carrot shreds, a drizzle of lowfat French dressing, a bit of cottage cheese and maybe some sort of cold pasta salad.
Either way, when you climb into bed you will have consumed roughly 1,000 calories — just enough to was away just .2 lbs more of your obscene amount of body mass.
But it won’t matter. It won’t matter because you’ll be thin and gorgeous, and every morning that you throw on a pair of tiny jeans and a perfectly baggy tee you’ll know it. You’ll be able to wrap your fingers around your wrist and your hands around your thigh. You’ll be weightless. People will be jealous. They’ll say “Oh, the tiny one” when referencing you. “Oh, the thin one.” “Oh, the perfect one.”
And you will be.
