A New Home
roseysenshi:
To be perfectly honest to herself, this new move to Lima, Ohio was more stressful than what Marley had thought it would be. In fact, she hadn’t even seen her new school yet - but duty was calling, and there was no time to waste. It was Friday evening, and the small town was everything else than asleep. The people of the town were out and having fun on their own, but for Marley? No, she had sworn to protect the people of her new home… even if this one wasn’t hers. Not really. Due to personal reasons, she had to transfer schools in the middle of the semester. So yeah, Marley was new in town, but that didn’t meant she wasn’t going to make sure she was doing her job by protecting the people of the town as her alter ego, Sailor Neptune.
Marley had gotten an alarm about a robbery in the southern part of the town. As quick as she actually was, she managed to drop her things in her room, and exit her new house unseen and then eventually made her way into town to track down the robbers as Sailor Neptune. However, when Neptune finally arrived at the scene; a dark alley, she quickly realized that it hadn’t been just any kind of robbery - it almost seemed like the criminals in the process of… actually draining, or maybe absorbing something from their victim’s body. Neptune stayed hidden in the shadows of the dark alley, on the roof, as she tried to get a better look at what was going on. Frowning to herself, she had to shake her head to clear her thoughts and actually do something. The young boy whose body was being assaulted seemed to be in pain - his scream was heartbreaking, and it was beyond Neptune’s understanding that nobody except her seemed to be hearing him. She bite down on her bottom lip, before she stepped out from the shadows to confront the figures. Or… at least that was the plan. She had merely taken two steps before she suddenly heard a loud and unfamiliar voice coming from the other end of the alley.
She squinted her eyes, and the sight of another Sailor Senshi appeared before her eyes. Neptune had never seen her before - a girl with blonde hair dressed in a similar Sailor suit as herself had appeared, and it seemed like the girl was picking up a fight with the “criminal”. Neptune carefully took a few steps back again, staying hidden in the shadows as she beheld the scene in front of her. Of course, she could possibly not just leave - that would go against her morals. But this new girl might need her help.
Quinn hadn’t been at this for long. It had been a few months since the Cheer captain started her career as a crime fighting Sailor Senshi. A few months since a talking cat had approached her and she had thought she was going mad. A few months since her life had changed completely. To say she had been shocked to uncover her true power was an understatement. Quinn had flat out refused all evidence that was presented to her until an attack occurred at her very own school as a dance was drawing to a close. Quinn watched in horror as her classmates fell to the floor, their complexions becoming a sickening pale blue and the perpetrator stood above them. Quinn felt herself begin to succumb until Luna - her cat who could apparently talk - arrived and talked her through how to trigger the change and fight the intruder.Â
Since then, Quinn had had no choice but to accept it and fight, although rather reluctantly. Quinn was anything but a coward and couldn’t just stand by as those around her suffered. Despite this, she did not allow her life as a Sailor Senshi interfere with her social life, not once missing a cheer practice or a social event. This was a fact that she and Luna constantly came to heads about but Quinn refused to allow her existence to centre around this one thing or to change her way of living.Â
She was sitting on her bed, leisurely reading a book when Luna rudely burst into her room. It was one that she had been attempting to finish since the end of summer and the day had seemed perfect, just a slight ray of sun peaking through her curtains, illuminating specks of dust as they danced through the air. It was calm. Or, at least, it had been.Â
“Quinn!” Luna howled her name, causing Quinn to turn up her nose. “There’s a robbery happening on the southern part of town, they’re stealing people’s energy!” Quinn continued to flick through her book, acting as if she had not heard Luna. “Quinn!” The cat screeched once more. Quinn rolled her eyes to look over at her pet.Â
“Luna,” Quinn began sternly. “I’ve had back to back cheer practice for the last week and was out late last night fighting bad guys, don’t you think I deserve a little time to recuperate?” Luna’s response to this was to let out a low howl and leap upon Quinn and thrashing the book in her hands with her claws.Â
“Right,” began Luna - she accompanied Quinn on all of her missions, “we need a plan.”Â
“I don’t have time for that.” Quinn scoffed before moving into action and initiating her change. Usually she wouldn’t be so brash or impulsive but tomorrow was the first day of the new school year and Quinn had to be well rested, not to mention she hadn’t picked out her outfit to wear for her grand entrance. Finishing her change, Quinn rushed into the building with Luna calling her name in the background.Â
The scene she burst into was horrendous. First she heard the screams. A boy was lying on the floor, crying for his life as a figure stood above him most likely stealing his energy. Furrowing her brow, Quinn put her hand on her hip and called out to the individual. “Stop! Get away from that poor boy!”Â
The individual looked up at her, a cruel smirk growing across his face. “Oh yeah, and who are you?”Â
And then Quinn muttered the words that she always did. The words that sounded so silly, so forced, when she looked back at them, but always came out so effortlessly whilst in combat. “I am Sailor Moon, and in the name of the moon I shall punish you!”
With that, she leapt into action.Â
