Quinn hadn’t been at this for long. It had been a few months since the Cheer captain started her career as a crime fighting Sailor Senshi. A few months since a talking cat had approached her and she had thought she was going mad. A few months since her life had changed completely. To say she had been shocked to uncover her true power was an understatement. Quinn had flat out refused all evidence that was presented to her until an attack occurred at her very own school as a dance was drawing to a close. Quinn watched in horror as her classmates fell to the floor, their complexions becoming a sickening pale blue and the perpetrator stood above them. Quinn felt herself begin to succumb until Luna - her cat who could apparently talk - arrived and talked her through how to trigger the change and fight the intruder.
Since then, Quinn had had no choice but to accept it and fight, although rather reluctantly. Quinn was anything but a coward and couldn’t just stand by as those around her suffered. Despite this, she did not allow her life as a Sailor Senshi interfere with her social life, not once missing a cheer practice or a social event. This was a fact that she and Luna constantly came to heads about but Quinn refused to allow her existence to centre around this one thing or to change her way of living.
She was sitting on her bed, leisurely reading a book when Luna rudely burst into her room. It was one that she had been attempting to finish since the end of summer and the day had seemed perfect, just a slight ray of sun peaking through her curtains, illuminating specks of dust as they danced through the air. It was calm. Or, at least, it had been.
“Quinn!” Luna howled her name, causing Quinn to turn up her nose. “There’s a robbery happening on the southern part of town, they’re stealing people’s energy!” Quinn continued to flick through her book, acting as if she had not heard Luna. “Quinn!” The cat screeched once more. Quinn rolled her eyes to look over at her pet.
“Luna,” Quinn began sternly. “I’ve had back to back cheer practice for the last week and was out late last night fighting bad guys, don’t you think I deserve a little time to recuperate?” Luna’s response to this was to let out a low howl and leap upon Quinn and thrashing the book in her hands with her claws.
“Right,” began Luna - she accompanied Quinn on all of her missions, “we need a plan.”
“I don’t have time for that.” Quinn scoffed before moving into action and initiating her change. Usually she wouldn’t be so brash or impulsive but tomorrow was the first day of the new school year and Quinn had to be well rested, not to mention she hadn’t picked out her outfit to wear for her grand entrance. Finishing her change, Quinn rushed into the building with Luna calling her name in the background.
The scene she burst into was horrendous. First she heard the screams. A boy was lying on the floor, crying for his life as a figure stood above him most likely stealing his energy. Furrowing her brow, Quinn put her hand on her hip and called out to the individual. “Stop! Get away from that poor boy!”
The individual looked up at her, a cruel smirk growing across his face. “Oh yeah, and who are you?”
And then Quinn muttered the words that she always did. The words that sounded so silly, so forced, when she looked back at them, but always came out so effortlessly whilst in combat. “I am Sailor Moon, and in the name of the moon I shall punish you!”
With that, she leapt into action.
Neptune watched the new girl closely as she watched her getting into the fight. Of course, she could possibly not know exactly how experienced the blonde woman was with this, but then again, Neptune never took any risks. If she was going to need her help, the brunette would step in.
It only took a few seconds before the bad man showed their true face - he transformed into a monstrous appearance that would scare off any person any day. With teeth bared in a giant grin, green eyes and fur growing out from their humanlike skin. Obviously, it was a some kind of a demon and not from this world, just like Neptune thought from the very start. If this had been a normal robbery, she would have let the police handle this. But considering these types of monsters had appear a lot lately, no risks should be taken.
At first, it seemed like the newcomer was going to win the fight. A few jumps and kicks here and there - for being a beginner (at least that’s what Neptune assumed), she wasn’t that bad. But however, this was not a competition. Neptune didn’t even knew if she and this woman were on the same side. Just because they were both Sailor Senshis, it did not meant they fought for the same thing. But at the same time, Naptune wasn’t sure what her mission was quite yet. She knew something was coming though, but until then, she was going to make it her life goal to keep the city safe.
Biting down on her bottom lip, Neptune was unsure if she should step in or not. The blonde girl seemed to be doing fine, until she suddenly came out of balance and for some reason couldn’t really.... fight anymore. The monster had knocked her down and it looked like she was troubling standing up straight. She obviously had a lot of will and might inside of her, but it wasn’t enough. Not this time, at least.
It was enough for Neptune to step out of her hiding place though. She stood up, took a deep breath and charged her attack; “Neptune... deep... submerge!” She aimed at the monster down below with her ocean filled attack. The attack hit it with a powerful slam and Neptune made an athletic leap into the air to jump down from the rooftop to stand between the demon and the blonde Sailor scout, but without looking at her.
“If I were you, I’d leave this place,” she told her, keep her voice steady and her eyes focused on the monster.
