btw i know the 90s aren't like the XIX century or anything but it is still impressive how well ds9 and its special effects have aged. the makeup artists' work especially is just so good. all of the heavily made-up characters look so natural in their prosthetics. everytime i see gul dukat's author out of drag for half a second i wonder why he's still in his bajoran disguise when surely enough that wasn't needed for a fan convention. like genuinely the cardassian look is so iconic and the perfect look of the human and the alien. having said that,
