It's incredibly sad that if a transgender person wants to dedicate themselves/ put their life on the line for our "FREE" country, to protect our rights to remain "free", (all while knowing there are so many people that stand against them and everything they are) that they STILL want to protect and fight for YOUR right to voice your opinions. For your freedom to express your thoughts, practice the religion of your choice, your ability to pick and choose your jobs that would not be acceptable in other radical countries.. yet so many people are praising Trump because they are disgusted by transgender people, and/or they don't understand them or believe in it. But guess what?! Because of the people that fight for your freedom in this country you are allowed to be disgusted, you are allowed not to believe in it. It's your right but it's BECAUSE of the people who have and are protecting and fighting for that right. What bothers me the most about this is that (majority, not all) people aren't even looking at this as it being a possible health issue, and that there is the possibility that their hormonal medications may be lost or damaged and may potentially disrupt a persons psyche. I totally get that, in fact there are SO many health conditions that are cause for rejection in induction and enlistment. The majority, instead, looks at it as; "they don't know what they are so how could they be in the right headspace to serve", "trans people are perverts and they raise the likely hood of sexual assault". There are many other diarrheal terms and excuses being used, (again, that's YOUR right) but I'll tell you you've been misinformed. Do your research. People are worried about transsexual people when we have people serving with severe "headspace" problems that slip through the cracks and are cleared to serve or continue to serve. As far as the sexual assault goes, I honestly don't think I have ever seen a news story involving a transgender person sexually assaulting someone, and I'm not saying that it hasn't or doesn't happen. But we have straight men, straight women, FAMILY members sexually assaulting men, women and children of the same and opposite sex. And we see this on the news frequently. Where are all these stories of transgender people raping someone? If there are any(there are) they pale in comparison to the latter. So, what I'm going to end this post with is: you don't have to like, understand, or believe in being transgender people, thanks to the people that fight and protect that. I ask that you at the LEAST set aside, and consider to respect the fact that there are transgender people out there that are willing to serve and protect that right, whether that is a health hazard to them or others(if it were to so happen, they not receive their meds), they at least have the courage to go out there and serve which is a lot more than we can say for many people in this country including myself that do not serve. So instead of the bashing I think we should all be so lucky that someone, has the strength to rise above people that dislike/hate them and still fight for them anyways. ANYONE being all genders, born the way they were or transformed, all races, sexualities, all people suffering from any medical condition and any practicing religious people with different beliefs should be THANKED for their willingness and courage to even consider serving even if the aren't inducted or enlisted. That is beautiful. This ugly hatred that is spewing across this nation right now, however, is not. If you've stuck with me to the end of this post, thank you for reading and for your time. You don't have to agree. You don't have to do what I asked and consider to respect these people. That's the beauty of America. But mindsets usually do not broaden with silence, so I feel the need to speak out for those who are often unheard just because they are different.
