Emma D'arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen HOUSE OF THE DRAGON — S02E03 "The Burning Mill"
Rhaenyra 2x05 HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (2022-)
Aegon III is described as being 10 years old at the time of Rhaenyra's death, which occured on the twenty second day of the tenth month of 130.
Which means Aegon was born, at the latest, in the month of october (tenth month) of 120. 🤭
being a fan of a female fictional character is like yes im in love with her soulfully and carnally but i am ALSO her defence attorney her ambassador her pr manager her representative her missionary her right hand arm man her silly rabbit. her scholar her explainer the last man standing in her army. phd in explaining her nuance and depth priesthood in her church. could i be talking about other things?? move on?? maybe!!! were i not the animated suit of armor in her temple bound to protect her for eternity
I will forever love and defend Rhaenyra, because if I was also emotionally abused and tormented in my childhood and growing up, by my stepmother and got my kids threatened, was usurped and eventually lost three of my children I would also have gone insane

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (2022—) Rhaenyra Targaryen + Season 2 Hair Appreciation
Her beautiful hair this season
Rhaenyra's red dresses this season were gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️
Daemon turns Rhaenyra into a vampire and she is delighted!!
I've never said it here but I'm an illustrator and despite having been painting for years I've only done one drawing of Rhaenyra so I thought about doing this one with vampire daemon, and him converting her to start, if you'd like more tell me :) if you want one of your own I also accept personal requests
It brings me so much joy to wake up everyday knowing that SASUSAKU is canon. Like.. it been +5 years but I am forever grateful & it never fails to make me happy.
+10 years at this point ♥️ I’ll never get over it.
Sorry to some mysoginistic and fatphobic losers around here (the anon, not op) but objectively, there is absolutely no reason why Daemon would not have completely adored Rhaenyra (which he very much did). She was the youngest dragonrider in the family for a century, she was the most beautiful woman in the whole realm, she was bright, intelligent, cherished and charismatic, she was a Targaryen with a temperament that matched his in every single way (proud, charming, stubborn, quick to anger, ruthless). Why wouldn't Daemon adore her? Why wouldn't she be the love of his life? Why wouldn't Daemon be proud and "thrilled" to have her as his wife? Why is the fact that he wanted to marry her but was denied and sent into exile so brushed over?
Daemon's love for her does not reflect Rhaenyra's worth in any way. Her importance as a woman, as a human, is not dependent on him in any way. But the way these people demean her and strip her of all her qualities is utterly mysoginistic and straight up bizarre to me. It speaks more about their views than about Rhaenyra herself as a character.
One genuine win for me was 1) the way they made it clear that even in an AU where Daemon is king his first action would still be to marry Rhaenyra and take her as his queen and rule together because he loves her and 2) how they had Daemon clearly state that for him Rhaenyra was the Rhaenys to his Aegon ("that didn't stop Aegon from taking a second wife").
Peace and light to everyone, but the moment someone says Daemon and Rhaenyra's marriage was political in any shape or form and not the obvious love match that it was is how I know they have no braincells in sight.
Because what exactly was political in: 1) a secret ceremony instead of a public one; 2) a wedding that did not respect in any way the proper mourning period; 3) an event that did nothing but humiliate the memories of their dead spouses; 4) a wedding that outraged and enraged king, court, nobles and commons; 5) that put Daemon's life at risk by murdering Laenor, Corlys' only legitimate son, for which Corlys wanted vengeance; 6) that had Rhaenyra already pregnant with their child to the extent that Mushroom calls it "a bastard"; 7) their first baby was born the same year Laenor and Laena died - only MONTHS later.
Like I'm sorry but we have 3 entire paragraphs of Daemon's political motivations in his marriages to Rhea and Laena and Rhaenyra's to Laenor, as opposed to half a page of Daemon's courtship of Rhaenyra, Daemon and Rhaenyra being the only Dance era couple reffered to as "lovers" by the text, Daemon being described as "thrilled" once Laena and Laenor were dead because Dragonstone and Driftmark were so close so he could go and see Rhaenyra.
Saying that book Rhaenyra always had an arc of "going mad and incredibly cruel" is how I know that you either did not read the book or if you did you have no reading comprehension and take things completely out of context:
Was Rhaenyra the one that first turned against Addam and Nettles? No, those were voices on the black council. Did Rhaenyra call bastards treacherous by nature? No, that was Bartimos Celtigar. Did Rhaenyra want to seize Addam and Nettles? No, that was Bartimos Celtigar, followed by several others: Luthor Largent, Lorent Marbrand, Medrick Manderly and his brother Torrhen who all "urged the queen to mistrust". Did Rhaenyra act at once even after 5 men urged her to seize them? No, she called for Mysaria, who actively fuels her paranoia. Can we be certain that's what Rhaenyra truly said/responded? No, that's what Eustace writes she said.
"Rhaenyra always had a tyrant arc" except she didn't, not if you actually read with your eyes open and your brain functioning.
