i think the two biggest things preventing me from remaking this blog rn are
figuring out a new url bc i'm not 100% sure i want to keep this one
and actually making the blog itself without having to make a whole new e-mail address

Main-verse Headcanon: Depression & The Well
Just going to come out and say it: Kagome suffers from depression.
She was very, very much in love with Inuyasha when she was returned to her era after the battle with Naraku was over and when she couldn't get back to him, it devastated her. Upon her return home, she refused to even leave the well for nearly a day and a half. After that, she spent hours at a time sitting at the bottom, waiting for it to open up to her again. It took her a good year before she stopped, and at that point she refused to go anywhere near the well house. She devoted her time to her studies, burying herself in her academics as a distraction until eventually she didn't need a distraction anymore.
Before the well opened up again, she thought she'd gotten herself to one whole piece again. She was graduating, had a life plan and was going to live happily as a normal, modern-day girl. She had accepted that she'd never see Inuyasha again, despite how much she wanted to. However, wanting to was her mistake.
The well re-opened and she felt all those feelings flood her again. Without hesitation, she made her choice to return, fully supported by her family even though they all knew it would likely be the last time they'd see each other, and leaped down the well.
She didn't know what she'd been expecting, but the hanyou moving on with Kikyo hadn't been it. Some part of her had hoped that he'd wait for her, and she felt ashamed of that. It was impossible to expect someone to wait for someone who might never return. She didn't blame him.
She blamed herself, though. Again, she dove into distractions, getting right into Kaede's teachings so that she could become a properly trained priestess. This time, however, her distractions weren't quite as distracting. With Miroku and Sango focusing on their family, Inuyasha and Kikyo focusing on theirs, Shippo off training and Kaede very much close to the end of her time, it leaves Kagome feeling very alone without even her mother to help her through it this time. Rin's presence in the village and caring for her often are one of her only comforts.
When she can't put on a strong front, Kagome often finds herself sitting at the bottom of the well, hoping that it will open one more time to go back home and knowing that it won't. She finds it both discomforting and comforting at the same time, feeling that, along with the Goshinboku, it's the place that is most connected to her family even if she can't get to them.
A little forewarning to Naraku roleplayers:
I am arachnophobic. Spiders seriously terrify me to the point that, if one is near, I become paralysed with fear. I shake like a leaf, cry and can't scream. It's a horrible feeling.
What this means for you is that I may have a harder time than others interacting with your muse in certain situations but that doesn't mean that I won't. I love Naraku as a character, just really not the whole spider thing.
Things that are a bit more animated than others (ie, the spiders in Don't Starve or Inuyasha or things like that) don't bother me as much as when they're a bit more realistic looking (ie, the spiders in Harry Potter, that one episode of Merlin, Uncharted 3, etc. etc.).
It's your blog, so I won't tell you how to run it, but not posting pictures of actual spiders and the such would be really appreciated. If not that, then please tag it as 'spider' or 'spiders' so that my Tumblr Savior can pick it up and I won't have to see it.
For the record, there was no one at all who was the cause of this notice. I've been meaning to make it for a while and spotting a Naraku on my dash simply reminded me of it. You did nothing wrong!
In It for Life || silverhairedassassin & priestess-reincarnated
Sesshomaru didnât say a word as the moment didnât call for him to. He simply let the moment of their bath being enjoyable in silence as he wasnât one for chatter at least not to his own thoughts he wasnât. Golden optics examined the miko with a interested stare to them, she was but a sight to behold but even with their intimate acts, he knew they wouldnât last long for this was but a spell to his knowledge or a challenge and he doubted it would be anymore then that for the time being. âHn.. good.â He finally spoke up, his eyes tearing away from her before she could get a chance to catch him as he didnât wish to hear of her being embarrassed, it was one thing he didnât wish to deal with at the moment.Â
It was but another moment or two before he got out of the water and wrapped a towel around his wasteâ he didnât wish to be exposed any longer then he had to, it was embarrassing to say the leastâ Even if he didnât show for it, he didnât wish to let someone who wasnât his mate see him in such a manner.âIâll be in our room.âHe simply murmured as he left her to be on her own, knowing well enough that she would be safe. After all the palace was hidden in the skyâ it would be nearly impossible to find, right? Once he was back in their room, he dressed himself in a way he would feel more comfortable while being around the house, his armor and other pair of clothing being washed and polished for when it would be of his time to leave again though all he could think of is if he could make the miko happy with her stay here, it wasnât often heâd try to do anything but for some reason he just felt compelled to do so.
Kagome sunk lower into the water when the daiyoukai moved to leave. She watched his back as he left the bath and visibly relaxed when the door slid shut behind him. She sighed and slid below the water's surface, completely submerging herself in its warmth and hovered under the water just above the bottom of the bath. She knew she couldn't stay too much longer, but she wanted to enjoy this moment for just a little while. Warm water wasn't something she took for granted and wanted to get the most of it, silly as that may be.
She re-emerged from the water only when her lungs felt like they might burst if she didn't get air. Only for another few minutes did she remain before she finally pulled herself out of the water, towelled off and re-dressed.
When she returned to 'their' room, she returned her things to the chair she'd left them on before and turned to the daiyoukai. Taking a breath, she steadied herself to speak.
"I'm sorry. We haven't always been on the best of terms and this m--..." She couldn't bring herself to say the word 'marriage'. "--spell, or whatever it is... it's not easy to get used to. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I feel like I'm imposing. You're being far more patient than I expected and I just wanted to say thank you and apologize."
You make my teeth clench and my hands shake Do you ever see what you do to me? You're wearing me out Just wearing me out But I'm wearing you down
You're impossible to love or leave So impossible to win or please I'm wearing you out Just wearing you out But I'm wearing you down
Anberlin - Impossible
Is that....
Is that dog food?
Remember that time Kagome rescued a bandit from their dead, demon crow possessed leader after they kidnapped her?
Dang that girl is bamf.
How do you feel about Sesshoumaru?
"That's... complicated," the miko sighed.
Her relationship with the daiyoukai was one that she questioned regularly. There were times when he seemed like he more than tolerated her-- when she cared for Rin or when he left her kimono as thanks for caring for her --and other times where he was just so... Sesshomaru. Whenever she thought their relationship might be getting towards the pseudo-friends stage, his attitude towards her reverted back to the borderline allies stage. He was the king of mixed signals.
Sesshomaru gently covered her lips with his own before withdrawing. He didn't bother looking at her, as he was afraid to see the rejection in her eyes. "My apologies," he murmured already turning away.
Azure optics went wide, filled with surprise at the soft but brief touch of lips. Where had this come from? Sesshomaru wasn't one who was prone to showing affection, so what had prompted such a gesture? Unsure of what to say in response to it, the miko simply said the first thing that came to mind.
"Thank you."
