Washington’s Olympic Peninsula is often referred to as the “Steelhead Capitol of the World”, and for good reason! During the winter and spring large numbers of wild winter steelhead return to the peninsula’s rugged coastal rivers. The “OP” as it’s often called, is home to some of the largest steelhead found anywhere in the world! Every time your line touches the water, you have a chance at catching a true fish of a life-time! Twenty pounders and larger are caught out here every season!
[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_single_image image=”13117″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][dt_gap height=”20″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/1″][dt_fancy_title title=”Adventure Angling in the Rainforest” title_align=”center” title_size=”h3″ title_color=”accent” title_bg=”disabled” separator_color=”default”][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_column_text]
These rivers flow directly into the Pacific Ocean off of the mighty Olympic mountain range, resulting in relatively short coastal river systems. Due to the proximity to the salt, these wild coastal steelhead are often “chrome” – fresh out of the ocean, and can put up a spectacular fight! Imagine fighting an ocean-fresh fish on a high-gradient river in a primal rainforest with the majestic Olympic range as the back-drop! This is adventure angling at it’s finest!

Our Wild Coastal Steelhead Fishing Program is based around two distinctly different types of angling experiences: Float Fishing Trips and Hike & Wade Adventures. Float Trips are the back-bone of our angling program and are conducted on the larger Olympic Peninsula rivers such as the Hoh, Bogachiel, Sol Duc, and Clearwater. Hike & Wade Adventures generally focus on smaller watersheds and upper reaches above the majority of boat traffic during periods of higher water.
We are 100% Catch and Release and Artificial-Only for Wild Steelhead!
[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_single_image image=”13116″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][dt_gap height=”20″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/1″][dt_fancy_title title=”Olympic Peninsula Fly Fishing” title_align=”center” title_size=”h3″ title_color=”accent” title_bg=”disabled” separator_color=”default”][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_column_text]
We focus on spey casting and swinging flies for wild coastal steelhead, which is our preferred way to catch them. While swinging is our favorite way, we also nymph in-between swing spots to maximize our opportunities. Our fishing program is flexible based on the fishing conditions and the preferences of our clients. Want to just focus on swinging and spey casting? No problem, in fact we strongly encourage it!
Centerpin anglers are welcome! Want to learn? We can teach you!

Float Fishing Adventures utilize a self-bailing whitewater raft with a comfortable fishing frame set-up to fish two anglers at a time. We prefer to float if river conditions are favorable, as covering as much water as possible greatly increases your odds of connecting with wild steelhead. There is also a considerable amount of holding water on the Olympic Peninsula which cannot be accessed or fished from foot, particularly on certain river systems.

Guided Hike and Wade Angling Adventures offer a unique way to experience the Olympic Peninsula. We utilize a variety of fly fishing techniques including indicator fishing, swinging flies, and spey casting depending on conditions. These trips focus on smaller drainage’s and upper portions of larger drainage’s above the major boat traffic, generally during high water event’s. Due to the nature of the terrain and difficult wading, these trips are recommended for active and adventurous anglers only!
[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_single_image image=”13122″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][dt_gap height=”20″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/1″][dt_fancy_title title=”Coastal Steelhead Angling” title_align=”center” title_size=”h3″ title_color=”accent” title_bg=”disabled” separator_color=”default”][dt_gap height=”20″][vc_column_text]
Our coastal angling adventures operate in a temperate rainforest which receives the majority of it’s rain for the year during the winter and spring season. Therefore we strongly recommend high-quality waders and rain gear! Due to the inherently unstable nature of weather patterns and river flows on the Olympic Peninsula, we STRONGLY recommend that you book multiple days. You will not be charged for days that we are not able to fish due to weather / river conditions!
