I heard you liek Mudkips.
It was late at night, and Archie had admittedly been at the computer for far too long. At this point, he was afraid to even attempt to look at the clock... It had to have been at the least four in the morning. Yet-- Here he was. Scrolling through Pokébook and mindlessly blinking at all of the things that his ‘friends’ ( which was mostly his own team members ) had to say on there. Most of it was nonsense or stuff about what so-and-so had for dinner that day, but one post in particular caught his eye.
“Old Memes for Dummies posted SO I HEARD YOU LIEK MUDKIPZ:
“
Archie clenched his fist and half-whispered, half-yelled into the screen “Oh- Oh I sure do-- I love ALL water Pokémon!” He was so moved by this post and its image that he immediately shared it with all of his friends. What’s more? He printed out over a hundred copies and plastered them up on damn near every single wall in the Aqua hideout. In the morning, there was an announcement made upon the loudspeaker. “I hope EVERYONE enjoys the image I found last night! Feast your eyes on that cutie!”
DO WHAT YA WANT CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE YOU 👏 ARE 👏 A 👏 PIRATE 👏👏👏
“Haha! Sounds like somebody watched Team Aqua’s promotional video!”
H-Hewwo is anybody thewe?
“hewwo... help me i'm stuck in this cave. .. maxie mmaxxie pwease..i'm stuck in this cave 'n its floodin' ye've gotta help me . why are ye doin' this t' me? Ahoy Help me .”
A sea lily in a fishbowl appears in front of you. An attached note reads “It might not be a Pokemon but it does live in the ocean, so I thought you could take care of it.”
A sea flower? How thoughtful! The note made him grin from ear to ear as he picked the fishbowl up in his hands and held it closer to his face. “You’re a cute one, aren’t you? I know just where to put ya!” ---and so the sea lily was placed inside of the giant fish tank inside of aqua’s base. It had access to actual water from ocean, and allowed any aquatic Pokemon to swim in and out of it freely. A perfect spot for this special flower.
👀 will you marry mmme?
MAXIE….. I-I THOUGHT YOU’D NEVER ASK…….. SO YOU FINALLY SEA THAT WATER IS SUPERIOR?

Archie’s Sharpedo likes to nuzzle up to him like a cat when he is in the water with her. She doesn’t realize this can hurt after a while due to her rough skin ( or maybe she does and just does not care ), but it often leaves him with a ripped wetsuit. The ripped suit can also come from how careless he can be when he is in the water. As such— he is almost always seen with tattered clothing, and frequently needs it repaired.
Treasure Chest Opened! You Acquired an old Family Photo!"
The majority of these pictures had either been tossed into the trash or lost to the trials of time– or so he thought. It was a little surprising for him to see the sight of his ( practically ) nonexistant parents stuck inside of the aging polaroid in front of him. Funny how they looked so happy in the moment captured inside the lens of the camera. Maybe in the beginning they were? Archie couldn’t remember.
The people standing there in front of his childhood home were honestly hard to recognize, particularly his father. The man took off to who knows where when he was 8 ( 9?, he could hardly remember anymore ), leaving Archie and his heartbroken mother all alone.
Of course he was upset about it, but he spent most of his youth outside for good reason. It caused him to be a little more of a troublemaker than he really should have been. He hated being at home– so he never was. His mother was a different story– turning herself to gambling, drinking, you name it. Remembering it caused him to let out a tiny chuckle. At least he didn’t have to deal with that anymore.
Archie wondered what they would think of the life he was living now, or what they would have thought of the dreams that he had as a kid. He never kept up contact with them. As soon as he was able to leave the house– he did. The picture was tucked back into the book that he found it in.
Lakeside | Cynthia & Archie
@primalorb liked for a starter.
-
Cynthia stood in the middle of an island on Route 128, crossing her arms as she stared deeply into the waters. The intent and intensity she stared with made it seem as if her gaze could pierce through the waters, allowing her to stare into the Seafloor Cavern.
This was where the legendary pokemon supposedly rested. This was where the massive change in weather had taken place, threatening to change the Pokemon world forever. She wanted to know more about the incident…she wanted to know more about the Cavern and the Legendary pokemons themselves.
Cynthia wanted to know more about the “orbs” that had allowed such things to occur.
“Hmm….where would one get a diving suit and the ability to dive?” Cynthia said outloud sighing in frustration as she stretched herself.
In all honesty he wondered why he was there again? Archie hadn’t been back to the island that shrouded the ancient Seafloor Cavern since what had happened with Maxie and Groudon. There really was no reason to at all. Groudon was quelled by that kid, and disappeared to God knows where. Maybe the mighty beast was back down there now? There really was no way of knowing unless someone traveled down there themselves.
Archie had only brought himself this time, and he told his crew to stay back at the hideout and continue on with their research. He breathed in deeply as the small boat he drove skidded against the waves of the ocean below. As he grew closer, he couldn’t help but notice the woman standing on the island already. So he turned off his boat just before getting there, allowing it to slowly beach itself on the sand of the island. Who was she?
“Y’know I didn’t expect to see someone here after what had happened." Hopping off the boat and onto the sand of the island, he quirked his head at her. Maybe she’d recognize who he was. Maybe she wouldn’t. Either way, he couldn’t help but notice just how calm the water looked in that spot towards the middle of the island. No one would have thought that a legendary Pokemon might be sleeping deep beneath the surface. “Thought most would’ve been scared away!”

End of an Era [Flashback] {Maxie + Archie}
mathemaxical:
Seeing Archie show interest in his little project and flip through the files he gave him did a lot to warm the frigid mechanisms of Maxie’s heart. He made a good decision coming to him first, he supposed, and Archie’s admission on feeling special only sweetened the deal. After all, Archie was special to him.
In more ways than one, possibly.
The light faded from his expression as he paid closer attention to Archie’s body language. The slight frown as he stared at the photograph of cave paints depicting Groudon, the uncomfortable shift in his posture… there was a but coming, and Maxie had to brace himself for the oncoming questions. He wasn’t going to win over Archie so easily, it seemed.
And come the queries did. Of course Maxie knew about Archie’s love of the environment, specifically maritime life. He’d even accompanied Archie to the beach on occasion, watching him pick up litter from the sands as he sat with the trash bin next to his chair as he read. He hadn’t forgotten, and if all went according to his initial calculations? The ends would more than justify the means.
“We as humans have struggled against Pokémon for land and territory for ages.” He sat back and steepled his fingers, thinking. “Think of it, Archie. With more continent space available to us, we’d have our own territory to build upon. Any untouched ecosystems - forests, deserts, et cetera - can be left alone for the use of Pokémon and Pokémon alone. With a steady, controlled hand guiding the expansion, the environment can soon reach a new equilibrium. We will all benefit in the end.”
“Besides…” Maxie propped his chin on his hand and stared Archie down over the top of his glasses, allowing them to slide down the bridge of his nose ever-so-slightly. “We as humanity have to set boundaries with Pokémon some day. Isn’t it inevitable? The more we rely on them as the foundation of our society as a whole, the longer it will take to assert ourselves as our own species. I know it’s an uncomfortable truth, Archie, but it’s a truth nonetheless.”
He gave him the most vulnerable expression he could manage. “You understand now, don’t you?”
To say the least, Archie was a bit lot taken aback by this whole plan. Was he understanding wrong? Did Maxie really believe that Pokémon were standing between humanity and success? Humans have done nothing but take from Pokémon who have absolutely no say in the matter, and while it wasn’t entirely a bad thing in the beginning, things have escalated to the point of no return. If anything, this was proof alone that humanity was standing in the way of its own success.
And the worst part was that he had told Maxie all of this before. In detail. Did he just forget all of that? He couldn’t believe that his friend secretly harbored such a capitalistic mindset. Sure, yeah, he couldn’t deny that what Maxie was saying made sense in a.. way, but it was such a selfish kind of thinking. Still didn’t justify trying to use the power of a God either.
“I mean-- yeah, sure. I get where you’re coming from.” He began, closing the folder in his grip and placing it back down on his lap. It had come out a little more frank than he intended it to be, and the curve of his smile was long gone now, but-- he set the folder down because he wanted to give Maxie his full attention again. Though when Archie opened his mouth to continue, he found that he quickly shut it-- Oh. The way that he was looking at him like a hopeful puppy....... He really was serious about this, huh?
The thought caused a twist in his stomach-- it kind of stung a little.
At this point he was sure that his friend wasn’t going to listen to his points about the environment ( even though Archie very well could have argued how more land equals more people, and more people equals more need for invasion of habitats full of Pokémon ). So he scratched the idea. It was kind of frustrating him a little that Maxie wasn’t seeing how ridiculous this all seemed, and Archie could find himself looking off to the side, reaching a hand over to pet Boss in an effort to calm himself before he let his mind begin to overthink.
“But... think about it. Would we even be here if not for Pokémon? I don’t think expanding life or becoming more self-reliant is a bad thing, Max. It’s just-- Don’t you think we’d benefit a lot more if we worked better together with ‘em?”
Even humanity’s food was governed by the lives of Pokémon, but what was more important was the fact that there are legends that contributed in creating the entire world. He knew Maxie believed in that sort of thing considering the fact that he was going after the power of a legendary in the first place, so how did what he say make any sense? How could he just gloss over the fact that we owe everything around us to the Pokémon that inhabit the world? How could he say that they, as humans, were at a competition with Pokémon over who should live where?
“I think the problem s’that we disregard the lives of Pokémon too much. We’ve already taken and taken from the environment and acted selfishly to the point that we’ll basically drain the world away---” He paused, though it was with quick decision that he decided to be bold.
“ ‘Sides. Wouldn’t harnessing the power of a legendary Pokémon beat the purpose of not relying on them?”
