Jason is touch starved for the wrong reasons, he isolated himself and chose to believe that he wasn't worthy of touch or love anymore regardless of Bruce wanting to have that connection with him again. it takes him breaking down in front of his own grave, holding the cold stone angel above him for him to understand that he needs someone, needs something to help him through life again..just before a hand lands on his shoulder, warm and tender. he looks up only to find Bruce..his dad...just when he needs him, to hold and comfort him like he used to only Jason is bigger, more filled out..but he's still the kid he once was in Bruce's arms
The first time Jason ever saw Tim outside of fighting was at the manor and when he did, when he saw the scars coming from the corners of Tim's mouth, no matter how healed they looked it made Jason go still, hands clenched into fists just incase. Tim looks at Jason, seeing the very clear "J" scar on his cheek and his face pales a little and he gives a little smile with a very nervous "this doesn't look good for first impressions.." Jason only stares at the boy before muttering and walking past him "Don't." everyone was purposefully avoidant of the J.J and Joker torture topic until they were alone again and all Jason does is punch Tim across the face leaving him with a bloody nose as Jason slams the manor door behind him.
Jason is sitting in the manor on a weekend, it's quiet which is good..until it's not, Bruce comes into the livingroom followed by a colleague, Jason goes still and quiet before Bruce's plastered smile faces him and Jasons stomach drops, he hates when Bruce smiles at him. reminds him too much of the boy he used to be, ut hurt to see him happy..even if it's fake. so Jasin gets up quietly and walks out but before he does all he can hear is "he's a good kid, I always worry for him" and Jason tries not to start sobbing as he leaves the manor, not because he's sad but because he's angry at how genuine Bruce can sound about how much he cared for Jason even if it was all for show
trans Tim with crippling dysphoria and perfect cuddles in Bernard's chest with a heated blanket and watching cheesy romcoms during his period (I NEED IT)
Jason has anxiety, if he knows something big is coming up the day of he gets sick to his stomach, feeling the world tilt under his feet as he tries not to puke but as soon as he gets to the event or whatever is causing the anxiety...it disappears like it never even happened, like he didn't have an hour long anxiety attack preparing for it, mentally cursing himself for not having some form of medication for it..
all of the bat kids have some sort of brace they wear while off patrol. Dick has a full leg brace, Jason has wrist braces for both hands, Tim has a back brace, Steph has a knee brace, Cass has shoulder brace, while Damian and Duke don't have any braces fir the fact that Damian "hasn't gotten hurt enough" (his own words) and Duke is inhuman therefore doesn't need braces. all of the children envy him to some extent but they always try to still show off even with their braces on
Jason gets overstimulated while cuddling Roy. he doesn't know by what, or why he is, maybe the blanket is too tight or his pants feel too hot or the presence of someone on top of him, hot, touching, pressure, is too much. he really doesn't know but he doesn't want to make Roy upset by moving so he just stays and convinces himself that it's fine, that he is okay and it just gets worse until it accumulates into him just being angry at everything and needing isolated no touching time while feeling bad that he may have hurt Roy
of course during Bernard's shift he sees a lot of injured people and a lot blood, however what he was not expecting to see was a broken nosed, black eyed, unconscious Tim in the ambulance. obviously panicked he almost forgets what his job is and only stays with Tim until he wakes up and naturally Tim's bright brain can only come up with one thing to say while hopped up on meds and dull pain "oh..hi baby~" the stupidest smile on his face as if he didn't just give Bernard a heart attack with how much blood was on him. Bernard just kisses his forehead with a sigh "Just...don't move, I'll be back when my shift is over..idiot" though he can't help a little smile slipping through when he pulls back to continue working (checking on Tim whenever the chance allows it)
Bernard comes home drained and tired from work, blood still on his shirt and hands despite cleaning them before, he looks around the empty apartment and feels like sobbing, of course Tim isn't home why would he be, he's a hero. he walks to the bedroom to undress and two arms wrap around his waist, a cold nose pressed against his nape, no words are needed to understand who it is so tears just start to drip, sliding down Berns cheeks onto the carpet and Tim just stays still to let him vent it out. "I thought you left.." a soft huff comes out of Tim as he squeezes Bernard harder "I watched you come home..I knew you needed me more than a dumb patrol would.."
Jason stress bakes the day after a failed mission, he holes himself up in the manors kitchen for hours and the whole place smells like sugar, fruits, and chocolate. Alfred checks in quietly occasionally to make sure he's not burning himself but once he's sure, he just leaves without a word. after Jasons fit is over, he leaves platters of baked goods on the counter and leaves the kitchen door open signaling that the others can actually enter without getting their heads ripped off. the funny thing is that he doesn't even really eat the things he bakes, he just liked the methodical way baking calms him down
Jason is in the batcave fixing his bike and there's that scrape..that sharp dragging sound he head gotten so accustomed to, the sound that meant he was going to be hurt, he immediately stands up ready to fight with the torque wrench in hand while his mind and heart are racing for a piece of sanity. when he turns around it's only Damian, standing wide-eyed and startled holding a small wrench "Todd?" Jason just sighs and looks down a little "why aren't you in bed, kid.." Damian scoffs and crosses his arms, wrench still in hand "I heard you making a ruckus and thought I'd...make sure you weren't destroying anything..obviously.." Jason rolls his eyes and walks over to Damian before pulling him towards the bike. "if you wanted to help..all you have to do is ask.." Damian relaxes a little with a quiet "oh" Jason works on his bike while Damian quietly sits by, accidentally falling asleep with Jasons coat draped over his body
Jason has an affinity for music (despite being partially deaf) and making playlists, that's how you know he likes you is he will make a personalized playlist of songs he thinks you'll like. everyone in the family knows this, they can tell who's on his good side or not depending on who gets one and who doesn't. who has more songs tailored to them versus who has only a few. they all enjoy the small token of affection and don't say anything about it directly to him, only in passing to others in the house when he's vaguely around. "oh yeah have you heard this song? I really love it, just recently heard it" Jason can't help but crack a small smile knowing his family actually enjoys the music he suggests for them
none of the bat kids have ever seen Bruce mad, they've seen him annoyed and depressed but never mad. so when Bruce comes home from a mission quiet, quieter than usual, his footsteps are heavy and hard when they hit the concrete of the cave, everyone stops talking and Bruce utters one word "Out." and like the flash everyone is out of the cave and into the manor. they can hear things being pushed over..a chair...maybe a batmobile tire, things that can't break and have no sentimental value..hours pass before he comes up to the manor and passes out on the couch, all of the kids crowd around him, cuddling upto him in some way, hoping it wasn't them that made him mad. when he wakes up to find all of them stuffed around him he can't help but smile a little..what was he mad about again? he doesn't remember and falls back asleep with his children.. his perfect family..always there to make things better when it matters
Jason and Tim have "panic attack parties". both of them come back from their separate missions about to break down and they make eye contact before walking as calmly as they can to the private study, locking the door and immediately going to opposite sides of the room so sit down and hide themselves, have a panic attack, sit in silence, only small eye contact, sometimes Tim pressing into Jasons side when they're more calmed down before both of them getting up and leaving, not a single word, not a mention outside that room. just an acceptance that they can be together there without having the pressure of being okay.
Dick wakes up with aches and pains in his joints, numbing them with medicine, having to shuffle around the manor, using braces for pretty much every joint in his body to keep from the morning collapse, once his body is woken up he can bear the weight of his body a little more, still feeling the tension and twists of his body. it gets worse the older he gets but he pushes through, does stretches, has mobility aids for when he's not working or on patrol, making sure he's extra careful when lifting and bending down as to not agitate his body more than it already is (icy hot patches are his best friend at this point)
Tim has issues with his neck and voice as a result of being shot. his neck is sensitive and itchy at points if it gets touched with the wrong soaps and clothing it will get raw and irritated. too hot or too cold environments cause rashes and cracking around the scar, making it bleed and scab over again. Bernard and Kon always have to be careful when touching the back of his neck even though both of them like playing with his hair that way, it can get painful and sore if too frequently done, causing more redness and irritation, only calmed down by cooling salves and moisturizing lotions. (unscented or almond, no other scents or Tim won't use it)
Tim's voice gets rough and raspy if he uses his voice too long, making his throat hurt in ways he can't soothe unless he doesn't talk, so he has moments where he just lays down on the floor, back pressed against the hard wood of the manor to make his throat naturally relax, having the family or his boyfriends stand over him periodically to make sure he's okay, only giving a small smile and nod before getting up hours later to talk perfectly fine. it took him long enough to gain his voice back after the accident, he's not letting it happen again just from pushing himself too hard
(plus his boyfriends and his whole family would strap him down if he got hurt again just from neglecting himself)
