[eyes widen] Wow….! They ain’t got nothing like this back in 1889!
[haha what] 1889?
“Castle magic, it’ll change the direction of the halls. Such as leading someone to a new area.” she replied, nodding her head in response to what he said. “It could be, mine came at the right time too…” Her words trailing off at the end. “I’ll be glad to hand them over when Roderich and I have a date night. Oh, Ludwig! Of course he can handle me! We’ve been together for year, mind you.” Gently pushing his shoulder.
“It will? Then how do people get anywhere here?” He frowned as he spoke, furrowing his brow as he considered it. “I hope you have one soon. A year? He’s either a brave, brave man, or a mad one, I can’t wait to see which.” Ludwig grinned at her, nudging her back.
All Alice did was nod her head to what he said, patting once on his back. “I understand…” she trailed off, looking back to him once they moved on. “That’s scary to think, this castle does hold a bit of magic to it. Perhaps that’s what brought you back.” Alice began, wondering how Roderich would react to him. “They’re happy to meet their Uncle Ludwig. I can’t wait to introduce you to Roderich.”
“What kind of magic?” Ludwig sank back into the seat, forcing himself to relax as they spoke. “Perhaps, Nana said that I needed a rest, and then a card came in the mail, so maybe it was magic.” He glanced down at the babies, smiling a bit. “Uncle Ludwig, hm? Well then I definitely get babysitting rights. And I can’t wait to meet the fellow, he must be good if he can handle you.”
"Are you using a cane?"
Ludwig narrowed his eyes slightly. “Perhaps, why?”
“Well, yeah. But we don’t do it twenty-four seven. We do other stuff.”
“The fact remains that you’re a pirate.”
"Give me cake or give me death."
Ludwig held the platter with the cake closer to himself, taking a small step back. “Ma’am, you have to let it cool first.”
Well– she certainly was’t expecting that. A shake was expected, but she appreciated the gesture. Maybe?
“Well then, just Ludwig.” She teased, taking the opportunity to sit across from him, and took another bite of the cake. “I, am just Chiara.”
Ludwig eased back into his chair, scratching the back of his neck. Maybe she had just meant to shake hands?
“A pleasure to meet you, Just Chiara.” His lips twitched, almost forming a smile.
“I might add it’s an interesting bunch of people too. A pirate? Oh, that’s Alfred. He’s practically an Uncle to the kids.” she chuckled softly. Ludwig seemed to not think the same of that. “Oh no…” Fell from Alice’s lips at the mention of Johannes being figured out. “His parent’s may have made him say that. I’m sorry, Ludwig. You deserve so much better.” Alice scooted closer to him, resting a hand onto his back. “I can at least say this, the castle is an excellent place to start fresh.”
“I cannot say I’m fond of him.” Ludwig frowned more for a moment, before pushing it away. He shifted in his seat, blinking rapidly when she said he deserved better. Ludwig looked back down at her when she scooted close, not making a move to get away from her. “Thank you, Alice. I’m glad I came here, otherwise I might not have seen you again. Or met your children.”
"Are you using a cane?"
Ludwig narrowed his eyes slightly. “Perhaps, why?”
“Well I know that. Who wouldn’t trust a pirate but his crew?” he chuckled. “We don’t just do illegal things.”
“Isn’t that the point of being a pirate? Illegal things. That’s why you’re called ‘pirates’. Because you do illegal things.”
“Kind of like a love at first sight sort of thing.” she laughed quietly, remembering fondly of the memories. “I’ll let you know, I’m positive you’ll meet new friends here. The people are kind.” the smile remained on her face until starting to slowly go away, intently listening to him. Her eyebrows rose at the end of it, letting silence fill the air before she spoke. “I-I see. It sounds like it was a tough situation, no doubt. Please tell me your father didn’t learn about it.”
“I’ve already met a few people. A small child who’d never seen a cell phone before, a small, bossy Italian named Chiara, she’s very sweet and likes cake, and...a pirate.” He wrinkled his nose a little when he spoke of the pirate, a frown digging at the edges of his mouth. “No, no he didn’t but... Johannes and I were together for a couple of years, and we were able to hide it from my father and the rest of the military. But...his parents found out, and married him off as soon as they could. He said he didn’t want to see me again.” Ludwig lifted his chin slightly, looking away from Alice and blinking a few times.
Hurtful
((I’m gonna put any of these that I get under the cut))
Send me "Hurtful" and my muse will tell you or your muse a hurtful name they've been called
“That he is, I simply didn’t know that at the time. Turns out he did perform at Arendelle on long time ago, we both forgotten we meet each other.” she replied, a closed lipped smile on her face. “Please, feel free to babysit them whenever. I’ll let you know when we need a babysitter.” Folding her hands on top of each other before tilting her head. “Did something in particular happen? What kind of person were they?”
“Really? What a strange coincidence that you should meet here, of all places.” He sank into his seat, letting out a low breath and looking Alice over, taking in all the changes that had taken place over the years. “Good, I have a lot of free time on my hands these days.” When she asked if something had happened, he looked away for a moment, trying to think of the words. “I joined the military when I was fifteen, Alice, that’s where I met them. We were just friends at first, close friends. Then, when we were eighteen, he kissed me.”
[staring at it in confusion]
…I don’t get it.
[leans forward, groaning a bit, and presses on it, opening the clock app] See?
“I feel bad now, I didn’t know who he was when I first meet him here.” she replied, softening her expression after he brushed it off. “If you say so.” she hummed, Edwin smiling back at Ludwig. Once more pulling Alice’s hair like usual. “I want the details.” Heading back to the place were the kid’s toys were on the ground. “Here we are. Now to make sure Rose doesn’t give her mother a heart attack again.” Setting Edwin onto the ground before sitting down on a couch.
“Well, he’s rather large in the classical music genre, he’s high in demand, I hear.” Ludwig’s smile grew when Edwin smiled back, looking absolutely smitten with him and Rose. “I get babysitting rights. I demand them.” he said firmly, setting Rose down next to her brother on the ground. “There really isn’t much to tell about it, Alice, it’s over now.”
“Huh–? Yes, he’s very talented and treats me well. I didn’t know you were a fan?” That certainly caught her off guard, he seemed peeved from his earlier reaction. Her mouth fell agape to see the bandage there, not even imagining how it looked underneath it. “Oh my, as long it heals well, will you have any problems with it?” she asked, watching Edwin stare at Ludwig. “Not anymore? Was there someone? Oh–Yes, we can head back to were we were at. This way.” she lead on.
“I’ve been a fan since he first started out.” Ludwig frowned again at her reaction to his wound, his eyes darting over his features. He shifted from foot to foot, holding Rose close. “It’s nothing, Alice, I’m going to be fine.I just need to take it easy for a few months, so they sent me here.” Ludwig glanced down at Edwin, giving the boy a shaky smile. “Yes, there was, but it’s not something you talk about in the hallway.” He trailed after her, almost feeling like a kid again, always following Alice’s lead.
“Yes, that’s him. He’s very good to me, Ludwig.” She didn’t know how to read that expression on his face, happy? No, not possible. Alice’s eyebrows raising in response to his nonchalant response. “Shot?! Where at? At least it wasn’t deadly, since you’re still standing here…” she trailed off, her mouth turning into a smile. “Of course not, there’s one for one more. What about you? Anyone special?”
“His work is amazing! He’s one of my favorite musicians. He better be good to you and the babies.” Ludwig scowled slightly, but only for a moment. “Yes, I was shot. Right,” he shifted Rose into one arm and lifted up his shirt to reveal the bandage,”here.” Ludwig let his shirt fall back down and held Rose to his chest again. “Me? Well...not anymore, Alice. Is there somewhere else we can go to talk? The hallway isn’t ideal for reunions, I don’t think.”
“His name is Roderich Edelstein.” she replied, perhaps Ludwig wouldn’t go into intimidating mode when he would meet Roderich. She didn’t want him to scare her fiance. “What happened that sent you to recuperating? Lord, I’ve missed so much, and this is sudden too.” she paused, patting Edwin on the back twice. “We aren’t married yet, we plan to be this summer. We’ve been busy for the past year.”
“The musician? The Rodierch Edelstein?” Ludwig’s eyes went wide, and he pressed his lips firmly together for a moment, as if trying to contain his own excitement. “I was shot.” Ludwig shrugged a little, dismissing the whole thing. He perked up when he heard they hadn’t gotten married yet, smiling quietly. “So I’m not too late for the bachelorette party?” He wiggled his eyebrows a little at her.
Alice instantly came up to Ludwig and Rose, making sure that Rose was fine after running off. A barrage of questions aimed right at her, but Alice was still in shock of seeing him there. “Um–Yes, I have kids. Twins as a matter of fact. One question at a time, Ludwig. What are you here for? I didn’t ever expect to see you here, let alone holding my daughter.” Though she was grateful it was him that was holding her.
“Twins? Who’s the father?” Ludwig was still bouncing, Rose cradled safely against his chest, and he didn’t look anywhere near ready to let go of her. His face looked tight, pinched almost, but he kept bouncing. “I’m ‘recuperating,’ or at least, that’s what the doctors are calling it. Gott, Alice, I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to see you again, let alone in such a informal setting. I thought the next time I’d see you would be at your wedding, though I suppose I missed that.”
