Issa lifted one shoulder, taking another drag from her cigarette as he sat beside her, before dropping it, her foot daintily lifting up to crush it. Issa turned, watching Henri speak, her eyes tracing his profile. She had heard about Odette, and could only imagine how hurt he had been. A sigh slipped out of her lips, the girl pulling out another cigarette and lighting it, giving up on sleep for the night. âCouldnât sleep. I get restless. Going for a walk is better than laying in my bed memorizing my ceiling,â she said, dodging the reasons behind her late night stroll. âHow are you doing?â Issa asked, her eyes flashing back towards Henri, knowing that if he was seriously sitting on a bench in the middle of campus at 3 in the morning with her than he was not alright.
He let his head tilt back until he was staring at the stars, listening to her talk. He completely understood what she meant, but all he could manage was a small twitch of a smile and an almost imperceptible nod. She asked how he was, but he couldnât find the words to answer her. He opened his mouth to speak, but what came out was not what he had been expecting. âIf we had a telescope, I could show you the Sea of Tranquility.â He pointed up at the sky. âSee? Up there on the moon. You canât really tell from here. I have a poster of it in my room. I keep it there to remind me that itâs bullshit. I thought it sounded like this beautiful, peaceful place. Like where youâd want to go when you die. Quiet and water everywhere. A place that would swallow you up and accept you no matter what. I had this whole image of it. It doesnât sound like a bad place to be, right? It wouldnât be, if it were real. But itâs not. Itâs not a sea at all. Itâs just a big, dark shadow on the moon. The whole name is a lie. Doesnât mean anything. Iâm starting to think Iâm the Sea of Tranquility. Something that gives people dreams of a better place, but really, Iâm just a shadow marking something perfectly fine as it is.â he pulled his eyes away from the night sky to look at her, suddenly realizing he had gone off on a tangent and a slight blush tinted his cheeks. âSorry...â
@princessreagan: ok nice but can we talk about me a bit more now
@princehenriofmonaco: @princessreagan we could, but i don't think twitter could handle that much beauty

Issa had been trying to sleep - she had. She had never been a good sleeper, not even when she was younger, restless and waking up multiple times a night no matter how late or long she stayed up. When something was bothering her, it just got worse. She would lay awake for hours, completely unexhausted, no matter how tired she had been when she climbed in bed. It was safe to say James leaving had been bothering her. It would be one thing if he had explained it, if he had given her some sort of warning and was still speaking to her - but as it was, just disappearing, it had left her all out of sorts. She felt nothing like herself. Which was how she supposed she found herself wandering CRUâs campus at close to 3 in the morning. Issa lowered herself to a bench, sitting in the darkness and half heartedly smoking a cigarette (a sure sign she was upset), when she heard the soft murmur of someone elseâs voice, not quiet loud enough to distinguish the words. Issa turned, peering around to see Henri pushing a hood off his head, approaching her. âHenri,â she said, raising an eyebrow slightly. âWhat are you doing out here so late?â Issa murmured, sliding over the bench a bit so he could sit next to her if he chose. Â
The closer he got, the more the young girl looked like a ghost about to disappear in the moonlight. The smoke from her cigarette swirled in the cool air as he took a seat beside her. "I could ask you the same thing." he said with a soft smile. He leaned back against the bench, pulling out his own pack of cigarettes and lighting one. He took a long drag and exhaled slowly before he answered her. "I saw Odette today. It's weird not to be in her life anymore. I feel lost." He wasn't sure why he picked this moment to be so candid about his true feelings, but he felt as though he could trust Issa. She had her own problems, she wouldn't care much for his. "What about you?" he inquired, although he already knew the answers. James had been one of his Omega brothers, and when he left, it was only logical for his girlfriend to be heartbroken. That was their business, though, and he wouldn't mention it. He understood the need for privacy in matters of the heart, and he only hoped that she was okay. He took another long drag of his cigarette, his mouth forming a little "o" shape as he exhaled. The smoke from his mingled with the smoke from hers as it floated through the air, and he couldn't help but feel like just as much of a ghost as her. For the first time in a long time, he didn't feel quite so alone in the world.

It was late, so late that the young prince didnât even bother checking the time. He figured it must be two or three oâclock in the morning, and he should be home in bed. He just couldnât get the days events out of his head. He had seen Odette again, her grandparents had brought the little girl to see him, and it shook him to his core. Despite what Sarah or the lawyers said, she was his daughter. He loved her more than anyone could ever understand, but she was always just out of his grasp. He knew sleep would be hopeless right now, so he didnât even try. Instead he spent his night wandering the campus, exploring and getting to know the shadows around him. His state of soberness was oddly refreshing to him, but he longed for a drink to wash away the little girlâs smiling face from his mind. At this hour, though, everything was closed and everyone was in bed. Well--...Almost everyone, apparently. As he rounded the corner into the grassy park area at the end of Greek Row, he saw a figure on one of the benches. He ducked his head, covering his face with the hood of his sweatshirt as he neared. The last thing he wanted right now was a bombarding of questions about why he was out this hour, or royal groupies obsessing over him. But as he passed the bench, he was able to make out the features of the person sitting there, and he stopped in his tracks. âIssa? Is that you?â he asked. His voice was low and shaky, and he wasnât even sure if she could hear him, but she looked...ghostly, as if she would disappear in the next strong breeze, dissipating like smoke. He found himself heading in her direction, pushing the hood down off of his head so that she could see him clearly, and wouldnât worry that he was dangerous.

âIt certainly is. I am trying to give you a good advice, thatâs all. Donât do whatever I do, just do whatever I say.â
âI appreciate it, beautiful, but Iâm quite happy keeping my emotions put away safely.â

Yup! Got some great news, Iâm in a great mood, so its the perfect cause for a celebration.
âWell then, drinks are on me! Every celebration calls for a little--or a lot--Dom PĂ©rignon!â
nat-rochester
Letâs go ouuuuuut tonight! I have to go ouuuuuut tonight!! Seriously I want to celebrate! Whoâs coming with me?!
âCelebrate?â
gia-benson
âHenri.. I am not an idiot. You are trying to avoid your feelings. I get that because I am the same. However you shouldnât.â
âIsnât that awfully hypocritical?â
gia-benson
âShit. Are you okay?â Gia nodded her head. âWhat am I saying? Of course not.â
âIâm fine. Iâve gotten laid more in the last two days than I had in the entire three years I was caring for her.â
gia-benson
âSheâs not in your life? Oh my god, I didnât know. What happened?â
âAs it turns out, sheâs not actually my kid.â
gia-benson
âI know itâs fun but I think thereâs another reason. Do you wanna talk about?â
âItâs really just because itâs fun. With Odette around, I was never able to drink or party or get laid. Now that sheâs not in my life anymore, I can do all of the stuff Iâve missed over the last three years.â
gia-benson
âMay I ask you why?â
âBecause itâs fun.â

To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.
