A compromised charging cable called the OMG cable can give hackers remote access to your devices. It looks like a normal lightning or USB-C cable but hides a Wi-Fi chip and microcontroller. This lets attackers inject keystrokes and run commands from up to 300 feet away, all while your device charges. Since it identifies as a trusted keyboard, security software is often bypassed. To stay safe, only use cables you bought from official sources, use USB data blockers at public stations, and enable USB restricted mode on your devices. Trusting unknown cables is a major physical security vulnerability.
