Please Help

This is sort of a big request, but as I’ve said I lost a very dear friend of mine during the attacks in France this week and I’m not able to make it to his funeral. If there are any artists or creators out there I’d like to commission something for his mother. She isn’t taking his death well and I hate that I can’t be there. Please I’m begging you to reblog this and spread it around. This is so important to me and I’d be so grateful. This is a terrible time for all of us and my heart is so heavy I can’t even imagine the pain she feels. Please. Please spread the word. Thank you all so much.

As a follow up to making these pixels, and as a writing exercise, I wrote out some of my thoughts on Bioshock Infinite on my personal blog.

I think that with video games, while it is crucial to objectively grade technical aspects of each product as a piece of public software, the consumer is also going to create their own added value based on the personal emotional connection that develops during their experience of playing the game. And I think a person’s experience with a title is intimately tied to what their life was like at the time they played it (“nostalgia”).

Do you have a video game that really resonates with you? It’s interesting to try and think back on your life at the time to find out more about the reason why that is.
