it's sad how things are most beautiful when they're ending. flowers when they're wilting, the leaves in autumn, the sun when it's setting, your smile when it's fading.
Elenora’s brown eyes followed the stranger as she sat down next to her, her eyes not leaving the ocean for a second as she continued speaking. It wasn’t until a few seconds later that she actually faced Nora and introduced herself. The brunette looked at the extended hand for a second, raising her eyebrow in the slightest- she was used to people kissing her hand, not shaking it. Oh well. Here she wasn’t a princess. After a few seconds of suspicious eyeing of the hand, Elenora finally took the girl’s hand in hers and shook it firmly. “Elenora, pleased to meet you.” Her voice came out softly, almost as if she barely wanted to say it. She wasn’t usually quiet when meeting new people but there was something about the moment that made her just a tiny bit more vulnerable. “I’d introduce my parentage but I’m afraid my dad’s a no-show.”Â
It’s his first time setting foot onto camp property, and the look on his face resembles that of a lost puppy dog. He’s got a bag under one arm; hastily packed, as his companion had made him rush, and a slightly smaller bag of stuff that is precious to him in the other hand. Phoenix takes the first few steps past the border, slightly bewildered as people dressed as superheros walk past him. He turns to the satyr, frowning. “Do they always dress like that?” His companion laughs, and explains the fact that Camp Half-Blood celebrates Halloween just as the mortals do.Â
It’s strange, mortals, as though he’s not one of them.
Okay, this is starting to get a little overwhelming. The brunette closed her eyes and took a deep breath, with all the costumes and ghosty vibes it was hard for her to keep track of what was there and what wasn’t. She couldn’t explain what she saw, what she felt- she just did. Keep going. Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t have followed the simple command but hey? It’s Halloween, isn’t it? Why not be a little daring. Elenora took a look around her surroundings before picking up her pace. She knew she was supposed to look for something, although she didn’t exactly know what it was. A few minutes went by as the young girl continued looking, it wasn’t until her brown eyes landed on a guy she’d never seen before with bags on his arms that she finally understood. Maybe it wasn’t something she was supposed to be looking for but someone. He looked confused, lost- surely he must be it?Â
“You feeling okay there, pup? You look like your kitten just died.” Elenora spoke in a soft tone as she stepped closer to the boy, sending a small friendly smile his way. “If you’re worried about the weird costumes, don’t mind them. I swear, everyone’s normal…ish.”
“Hmmmm.” The young girl hummed softly as she thought of a wish proper of the situation she was in at the moment. Maybe she could wish for things to be easier? For her dad to reveal himself and claim her already? Elenora once again closed her eyes, bringing the flower close to her lips and blowing softly as she tried her hardest to put her heart into that wish. She didn’t exactly believe in dandelion wishes but who says they can’t become true? After her wishing minute was over, the brunette looked over at her friend and smiled excitedly. “This makes me feel like I’m back to being ten.”

There was a load pop, and all the sudden Nathaniel Stewart came stumbling out of the side of the Hades cabin. In reality, he had been attempting to shadow travel from the borders of the camp directly to his cabin to avoid having to interact with anyone else. Clearly he was out of practice. “Damnit,” he mumbled as he proceeded to kick his bag out of anger, as he moved towards his cabin. That’s when it occurred to him to check and see if anyone had seen that rather embarrassing mishap. And unfortunately someone had, narrowing his eyes he watched the camper as he slowly approached them. “How about you don’t tell anyone about what you saw, alright?” he stated, it was posed like a question but it was clearly a threat.Â
Oh, no. The brunette crossed her arms over her chest and raised an eyebrow at the guy who was seemingly threatening her. Normally, she would just no obediently and let one of her care givers take care of him but they weren’t with her anymore, she was alone. You know what that meant? No one was watching her. The eighteen-year-old took a step closer to the guy, a daring gleam in her eyes as she stared straight into his. “What if I feel like talking, then what?” Boy, if this lad laid a hand on her. Elenora wasn’t exactly sure of what she’d do, she’d never fought anyone in her entire life- but I mean, there’s a first time for everything.
Thomas grabbed a handful of pomegranate seeds, looking at whoever’s shade was moving near his feet. He was a bit tipsy already. “They say Hades tricked mom with those so she can return to the Underworld every year…” he noted, shoving some of the sweet seeds in his mouth. “Honestly… Wouldn’t blame her, they’re amazing. Want some?” he reached forward, his lips stretched into a beautiful smirk. “I promise I won’t make you visit my cabin every few months…”
Elenora wasn’t a stranger to drinks. Actually? She was quite a fan of a glass of sparkling wine or sangria. Getting drunk, however, that was something she was simply just not allowed to do. One would think that in a safe space for demigods people wouldn’t be allowed to have any alcohol, for god’s sake, they weren’t allowed to have cellphones, how could they be allowed to get shit faced? She couldn’t understand and honestly? She didn’t care for it. Ellie kept walking around camp searching for a way to entertain herself, her disguise a simple white robe and stethoscope. She would’ve liked coming up with something a bit more eye catching but what she had in mind was far from being acceptable.  During her walk around the grounds, she’d seen a lot of kids acting up but this one in particular had managed to grab her attention. She eyed him warily as she stepped closer, both of her arms crossed over her chest. “So if I take one, there’s no catch? Nothing to give in return?”
“They’re lovely, aren’t they?” Elenora took the blooming dandelion in her hands and brought it closer to her face, her brown eyes examining every little detail of it. They’re soooo amazing, I used to make wishes every single day. Dandelions are my favorite flower! A soft laughter escaped her lips at the girl’s reply, making her nod her head in reply. “I agree.” She spoke in a hushed tone, almost as if no one needed to listen- which they didn’t. “Should I?” She motioned to the small flower in her hands, brining it closer to her lips in suggestion. Yes! The brunette chuckled, waving her hand in a dismissive manner before speaking up. “Okay, okay!” Once she’d spoken, the brought the dandelion closer to her lips before closing her eyes and preparing herself to blow on it softly. She was so close to making her wish and she would’ve succeeded if she hadn’t been interrupted during the process. She looked up at the cause of her interruption, a little confused. “Hello?” Â
Elenora wasn’t used to sharing, she wasn’t used to doing things on her own, to not having people waiting on her every move- it’s not that she couldn’t handle it, she just didn’t know how to. Coming from a home where she was told how to act, talk, and even dress, so much freedom all at once was proving to be more than a little exhausting for the eighteen-year-old. The brunette sighed loudly as she ran out the small cabin she’d been assigned to, she ran past everyone who was in it, not bothering to answer them when they asked what was wrong. Why would she? It’s not like she should get attached to them, after all, she’s not supposed to stay at that cabin forever, it’s not her place. It’s not where she belongs and that was abundantly clear. She kept walking, pushing through the groups of campers clamed around, attempting to get away from them as fast as she could. Elenora was searching for a place where she could sit alone and not be bothered by anyone and she was trying to get there fast. The girl kept walking for a little longer, past the dining pavilion and straight to the beach. Once there, she sat down on the sand and closed her eyes, she was finally able to breathe- or so she thought. Her peace and quiet was quickly interrupted by the sound of someone walking closer making her let out a loud sigh. “So much for being alone.” She spoke softly, not intending for the other person to hear it.Â
