kim namjoon is an infj and if i didn’t have 80 billion assignments to plow through u bet ur ass i’d be typing out a 1000 word analysis to make my case!! but VERY BRIEFLY:
he’s shown himself to have a clear, hyper-focused, and rather idealized vision for the future [dom Ni]; far reaching goals revolving his career aspirations (music) which are rooted in an innate desire to connect with and reach as many people as possible [aux Fe] as opposed to pure self expression or individualism [ X dom Fi].
His goals have never once wavered; we never see any hint of Ne exploration, mostly Ni intensity (maybe even hints of rigidness or tunnel vision).
“Before becoming a singer, i wanted my future to be decided. I’ve felt that my life in the residence was too indefinite. I hoped it would end somehow. Become a singer or not. I always wanted a firm conclusion.” [more dom ni]. For a high Ne user, the idea of a “firm conclusion” would be a million times more terrifying than indecision or open-endedness.
namjoon is known for being ~wise~ and lyrical and poetic. he demonstrates more Ni existentialism than Ne philosophizing however—in pursuit of some deeper meaning or a kind of personal, singular truth rather than the entertainment of possibilities simply for the sake of it all. He goes on tangents, yes, but often gets fixated on one idea and digs the hole deeper and deeper instead of jumping from one shallow hole to the next [evidence of ni-ti]. Depth rather than breadth.
This one is a bit of an oversimplification but it’s funny so i’m including it: namjoon is famous for his clumsiness, does anyone else smell inferior Se lmao ?? i mean he’s generally unaware of his physical surroundings, forgetful and clueless, the type to walk into a glass door..
His solo track Reflection has some contributions in terms of infj-ness lying wait to be dissected. A feeling of otherness created by a lack of perceived purpose [unfulfilled Ni, Fe] and a desire to belong, a comfort found within a crowd [more aux Fe]. Most infps (and fi doms in general) feel a need to retreat back into themselves in order to introspect, sometimes self-isolating or closing off in order to process their feelings in private. Namjoon removes himself to gain objective perspective [tert ti] or will be more inclined to share his burdens w/ others in order to sort out the root of his emotional reactions [aux fe].
Namjoon has also spoken a bit to those telltale Ni “A-ha!” moments where a flash of genius strikes at seemingly random times. (This happened w “Can You Turn Off Your Phone” and i think “Spring Day” to some extent but i’d have to rewatch the vlive lol). This is due to the way that introverted intuition processes information unconsciously, working completely below the surface, almost like magic.
