FY!JH Will Not Be Posting White Washed Fantakens
Due to concerns and complaints from our followers regarding whitewashed images being posted on this blog, we recently issued a poll regarding our blog posting this content.
Whitewashing is an image altering technique which results in lightening the skin colour of a person in an image and, intentionally or not, sends out negative and hurtful colorist connotations. This is a common practice not just of the majority of idol fansites, but also of magazines, media outlets, and entertainment companies (eg. comeback teasers, profile images, etc). This poll concerns only fantaken images.
FY!JH blog will now discontinue posting any whitewashed fantakens. We will, however, post all official content and content from magazines, media outlets and entertainment companies. Thank you for your input!
