I like to compare that stupid skittles/M&Ms thing to polio. We know that a certain number of people will have an adverse reaction and die. Like when the polio vaccination was invented. Deaths went down to the point where more people died from being vaccinated than not. No, that didn't mean the vaccination was bad, it meant the vaccination worked so well that it was only those who had a reaction to the shot that died. Do we stop vaccinating for polio (assuming the person you ask is not an anti-vaccine person)? No, we don't. We understand that is a natural risk, and that's all part of what we are willing to do to keep the majority safe.
