claudette aurelia carlton, or better known as claudia carlton was born on may 19th 1942 to a french mother, hélène besnier, and an english father, robert carlton in the english countryside

claudia became a child star at the age of six-years-old after starring in the film ‘the star’, despite initial hesitation from her family, they later moved to california near los angeles to make filming and work opportunities much easier for the young claudia. throughout the next few years claudia would act in several films up until 1958, at the age of sixteen where she took a break from acting to try and enjoy her teen years, returning to england for that time

returning to the public eye in 1962, after completing her education early and bettering her acting, among other skills. starring in the french film ‘…and god created woman’ to break the end of her hiatus, despite the stern disapproval of her father to star in the film, much urged by her agent to “shed the image of being a child” and to show the world that she was no longer a child star, but now an adult woman ready to be seen as such, despite only being twenty years old. and indeed, the film was a great success in the united states as it was in europe

after moving back to california after the release of the film, claudia settled in a home in the neighbourhood of benedict canyon. where she met the famous celebrity hairstylist, jay sebring which she would become a client of, and later even befriend, as well as forming other hollywood ties to attempt and strengthen her career even further while working on several films and even landing modeling gigs

although this is set in 1963, early in the year of 1964, whilst attending a busy after party along with jay, and new up-and-coming actress, sharon tate, amongst other friends, claudia crossed paths with none other than the famous band, with the fresh-faced british boys, the beatles

while nursing a drink, claudia was approached by “the funny beatle”, ringo starr. where he expressed his fondness for her and her films, even her early ones that he watched as a young boy himself. claudia seemed to admire ringo’s flattery so much so that they started dating that year, and even married in late 1965, shortly after claudia’s twenty-third birthday
