Reblog/like if you’re a studyblr!
Okay so starting university has been super hectic, and as a result I haven’t had much time for this blog. However, I’d love to jump back in and get some motivation, so I plan on revamping a little over the break.
Anyway, I would love more people to follow so that my dash feels a little more active and productive. Reblog/like this if you’re a studyblr and I will follow you 100% !!
How do you study for big tests? I always find myself scrambling and I don't want that to happen anymore!
Hey there! I study for every test basically in the same way, here are some tips:
Rewrite your notes every night.
I know it sounds tedious, but just do it. I take my notes at school on my laptop (and for things that cant be typed, like sheet music, I carry a small notebook!) and I have a spiral notebook at home for each of my subjects. When I get home, I sit down as soon as possible and the notes out clearly and neatly. I make sure I don’t take this set of notes to school or basically out of my room, because I have a tendency to spill stuff, fold edges when I’m distracted, ect. I try and keep this set of notes in mint condition.
Colour code.
Get yourself a nice set of colour pens. I recommend the Staedtler triplus fineliners, they’re fantastic. Work out a system that works for you. I’ve seen a bunch of people’s recommendations and I don’t personally like any of them. I find things are easier when you develop a system that you like best, and stick with it. Things will be easier to read and identify later when you’re going back over your notes if they’re colourful. They’re nicer to look at too!
Create a study journal.
Study journals are wonderful things. Mine is a spiral notebook that’s about half as big as regular sized. When a big test is coming up, I’ll pull it out and write out condensed versions of notes from the unit. Doing this forces me to do more than skim my notes, but pull out the most important information. Do not crowd things in. Use bullet points and as little words as possible to get your point across. This book is going to help you on the day of a test, trust me. I bring this bad boy with me on test days, and skim it quickly before I’m about to start. Instead of flipping through a bunch of notes, I’ve got the most important content, condensed and easily readable at my fingertips. The best part about this is, at the end of the semester I’ve got a handbook with everything important I’ve learned, and the exams feel considerably less scary.
When studying, keep motivated.
I used to find it really easy to get off track/loose focus while studying, so I know how it feels. One great thing to keep yourself motivated is rewarding yourself. There is an app that I use to keep myself from looking at my phone called “Forest: Stay focused, stop phubbing” Which plants a virtual tree for you for every 30 minutes you don’t move from the app’s homescreen. It kills two birds with one stone; I stay off my phone and I also get to watch a tiny virtual forest grow which is super cute.
I also motivate myself with the use of breaks. Using the app I mentioned, I’ll study for 30 minute periods at a time, and then take fifteen minute breaks in between. During these breaks, I refill my water bottle, listen to an audiobook and reward myself with candy. Seriously, the candy reward bit is the best part. There’s a bulk store by my house, and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ll literally buy industrial sized bags of candy and keep them at my desk for a snack during my break. It’s glorious.
I’ve got a ton more tips, but this post is getting a little long, so I’ll wrap it up. Good luck with your studying!
My new little study space
Hermione Granger was good at school and magic because she worked hard and asked for help from her professors. She was not just naturally talented.
If you feel like you are struggling and are too shy to ask for help, remember that you can role play as Hermione Granger.
Great advise

Can we end the whole “studyblrs always get straight A’s” stereotype? It’s ok to get a B. It’s ok to barely pass. Everybody has their weak spots. Everybody has something they love to do. It’s ok to not be perfect at everything. It’s ok to be awful at something. It’s part of being a person.

29/100 days of productivity
It’s dull and raining and not in the good way today 😴😴😴

And suddenly, I realise that I have a bunch of work pushed towards the end of my holiday. Note that I’m NOT USUALLY LIKE THISヾ(×× ) ツ. Oh well… I’ll have to push through to 100 hours of Korean to complete the challenge, and also find out ways to continue my studies and energise my determination as the school year begins…
